I think it's more related to people not understanding what 'former' means. It doesn't mean "absolutely has nothing more to do with", it means "doesn't make decisions for or actively take part in as a part of the chain of command". I'm former a few things a bit similar to that, in the sense that I'm not employed by them or actively responsible for things, but I still speak to people who are employed and actively part of things about stuff. I do at times communicate their view on things since I know what it is and it's at least very close to how I think about certain things. People I speak to about certain things in real life maybe don't know exactly what my links with or background with certain things are, but I would be very surprised if they didn't understand that my opinions are colored by my background. They have even told me that one of the reasons they speak to me about specific things is to get an idea of how certain parties look at those things. Heh, it reads as it is.

The Butler Township police chief gave an interview in which he said that Butler Township police were never part of the security meetings prior to the rally. They had been asked to do traffic control only. But then they heard a request go out that there was a suspicious person and so some of their traffic assigned police officers went over to help out. It was two traffic cops who responded to the crowd saying there's somebody up on the roof. So one officer boosted up the other officer. Then the shooter swung his rifle towards that officer who fell about 8 feet, injuring himself, his ankle, but while he was on the ground he used his radio on the tactical channel, according to the Butler Township police chief, to alert the entire radio band with the gunman information - he did that on the tactical channel . Same with the other traffic cop who had boosted him up, he immediately reported the presence of the gunman on the tactical channel.The one officer did it while he was still sitting on the ground having fallen and was injured, he got on his radio to report what had just happened to him. Reported the gunman on the tactical channel. Both officers did that immediately on the tactical channel according to the Butler Township police chief. Who is a different officer than the Butler county sheriff. These reporting officers were 2 BUTLER TOWNSHIP police officers assigned to traffic control who walked over to help out.

I have always seen what kind of a leader Trump is, I went out and voted for the very first time in the 2020 election because I was all for the direction that our country was heading in. What we all saw on Saturday 07/13/2024 didn't surprise me at all, from the attempt on his life to his reaction to it is the man that I have seen since his last run in office. So many people paid no attention to what was going on around them and just fed on what the media was spewing out. As to why senior people in DC don’t get fired: It’s all about Loyalty in upper politics, and those upper positions are all political. In a case like this, the head of the secret service is meant to grit her teeth, deny everything, and take what’s coming. If she does that, and refuses to point her finger at the people above her (Mayorkas and the White House), she’ll be rewarded for her loyalty. Even if she gets fired (resigns) from her current position, she’ll be rewarded with another position somewhere else. Additionally, she’ll be marked as someone trustworthy and loyal, and she’ll likely be assigned an even better position in the future.

The differences in training and (more importantly) experience between agencies in this country is absolutely insane. My first (urban) department had a 9 month Basic Law Enforcement academy. In SC it's 8 weeks. And in SC, you can be hired, sworn in, and sent out on the street for a full year BEFORE you even attend the academy, which... well I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but there it is. I gained huge amounts of experience in my first department, and when I moved back to SC and started working, I realized that - quite frankly - these smaller departments are playtime. It is impossible to take their shoddy training seriously. The entire command staff is composed of a good ol' boys (and girls) club, with little to no real police experience themselves, and they have NO IDEA what they are doing. So it doesn't surprise me that Butler County in Pennsylvania (who probably have zero experience working with the Secret Service or even doing event security or executive protection) may have dropped the ball. Not that it's their fault. They just lack the necessary training and experience to handle a problem when something goes sideways.

I was a homeland, security investigations, special agent, and worked on numerous Secret Service details for the United Nations General assembly. And we all worked under a Secret Service supervisor we didn’t do anything on our own. We use because we’re all homeland security. We had the same radio channels. And every time I work with him, you work directly with Secret Service agents. If they did it another way where Homeland security investigations agents are just given a certain portion, that is not the way that I did it. But I don’t appreciate you saying HSI agents are incompetent because I think we’re just as confident as them maybe not a skill specific type but surely we do raids and have weapons and defensive training and we go after and Target very dangerous people so I don’t I wouldn’t say that we’re incompetent.
