Recipe for sauce Marinade: equal parts olive oil and soy sauce.
Dipping sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 T honey
Juice of 1 lime
Dash of sesame oil
Sprinkle of sesame seeds

Awesome catch & cook!! I utilize the same recipe for fresh tuna, but add minced garlic and a teeny bit of the garlic juice to the sauce. Sweet chili sauce...if I want it spicy!

I caught a 26 lb and a 21lb black fin on 12lb tackle in key west 25 years ago. They are so much fun to catch. I put cajun seasoning on mine and seer it on the grill. Definitely good stuff.

Pretty sure that was a Spotfin Hogfish aka Cuban Hogfish, theyre a wrasse that usually tops out at about 9 inches, 11 inchers are considered very large ones. I know people catch them for the aquarium trade. Edit; heck man, you got your licenses to collect marine species? They retail for $300 starting...and you guys DO have a store...would be cool to potentially see a tank or sell em lol. I know Bum had that series where he caught fish for a restaurant tank

What an amazing day out on the water!! Growing in Savannah me and my dad stayed out on the water off the coast of Tybee Island and I miss that so much. Retiring from the Army and living in Atlanta now away from the ocean is painful to say the least. I'm going to retire permanently in 3 1/2 years and I'm moving to Florida and buying a boat. what's the honourable thing do do on a charter, when you have a shark on, and your other rod has a fish on, a black tuna in this case, but another guy onboard lands it because you are indisposed. Is it his fish because he landed it or yours because it was your rod and live bait? Do you go halves?
