Late 70's dad and 3 other guys got into sea trout under blues in the Delaware Bay, probably out of Lewes. Filled every cooler and fish box in about 3/4 hour. Blues were eating sea trout on the way up so usually ended up with half a fish. Dad tied on a big bass popping plug. Hit water and immediately knocked about 20 ft in air. No trebles left on it and the plug was crushed and full of holes.

Ever thought of placing your GoPro either in or under a sargassum mat? In addition to the larger pelagic species, there's often smaller creatures within the weeds themselves. Usually, to hide from larger predators.
@Pthaloskies Жыл бұрын
It's a good idea to have a little segment like this with your trips where you go through the store and select the items you intend to use. You know, how to fill up your tackle box with the EXACT lures, leaders, etc. that you use for a particular type of fish or trip.

A trick when catching Mahi is to keep one hooked in the water until someone else hooks one. Then bring the first hooked one in and the next person waits until the next one is hooked and so on. They are a schooling fish and are reluctant to leave one behind so you can keep the school around the boat when you always have one hooked and swimming under the boat. You probably already know that but I've found it's a great way to land a dozen real quick, especially when around a huge sargassum patch.

Did some drift fishing about 4 miles off of West Palm Beach in about 100 feet of water just above a reef. It was rough that day. Caught a couple of cobia but we started having issues with bull sharks and couldn't get our catch in the boat because of the sharks. We even moved several times but couldn't lose the sharks but still had fun. When we left we came through Gulf Shores and wanted to stop at Beach Bum Outdoors but didn't know it was closed being Saturday.

Nice trip. Try leaving the filet attached at the tail, flip the filet opposite the fish and then take the skin off. It makes it easier when it's attached to the fish.

If you've got a garden at home, save those pish parts and run them through a meat grinder (if you have one). You can then use that fish mush (try saying THAT 10 times fast) as fertilizer. No waste!

Meclizine- it’s over the counter medication available at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS Etc. There are also medicated patches for behind the ear (prescription needed). Hope this helps. Tom (retired Pharmacist)

That’s a tough one. Dramamine does work but it has side affects like extreme drowsiness.
@SeniorGymBro-Tom Жыл бұрын
@@AnglerUpTv True. My wife prefers meclizine over dramamine when we’re out fishing on a boat. It makes her feel less drowsy. It does depend on the person. Avoid alcohol either way.
@SeniorGymBro-Tom Жыл бұрын
@@AnglerUpTvActually the Dramamine (brand name) Less Drowsy formula- active ingredient Is Meclizine. Their original formula causes more drowsiness.
