Good job Justin. Way to go on showing representation of the native Paiute! It's their lake, not ours and it's a privilege to be able to fish that lake, not a right. That place is magical and super stoked you got to fish with our homie Primo!!! NEXT TIME GO FLY FISHING WITH PYRAMID FLY CO!!!!!

Pyramid is a great place to fish. Unfortunately, it's also a great place to get skunked if you don't know where to go,what tackle,or which technique to use. I've fished it for over 43 years from boat and shore and I consider it a great privilege to live near and to be able to fish there!

I’ve never seen steelhead sized cutthroat trout in my life. I got to go fish that lake!!! The biggest sea run cutthroat trout I personally caught was 19” while fishing for king salmon. That’s so awesome 😎

I fish from shore an I noticed that you guys catch some bigger trout out there but I still get some good size trout on a black an red jig I have got an 18 on it

Cool video. I fished here a few years ago and caught a 13 pound cutthroat

My main comment would be that those Boca-Grips are tough on trout and salmon. Their mouths and jaws aren't designed to hold their body weight while they flop around. It seems like better C&R practices would help this fishery.

Mark Weber Horrible fish handling. The way they hung the fish with the grip, I thought they were keeping it

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure your Gary Yamamoto "grub" (curly tail grub), that your using as a jig trailer, is scented.
@AnglerWestTV3 жыл бұрын
Yamamoto doesn't produce scented plastics.

High mortality rate for the opener this year
@nvfishing22896 жыл бұрын
Why is that?
@droo13786 жыл бұрын
@@nvfishing2289 Very hot summer this year. Usually, on the opener, fish are 10-35', chasing the bait balls around. Water temp is just real warm & they are all sitting down on the bottom around 80'. Typically a real hardy fish, but they were over heating after getting dragged up from there. It has improved since though

What size rod and reel would you recommend here? Also lb line?
@AnglerWestTV6 жыл бұрын
Something along the lines of a Lexa 100 Line Counter on a medium action 8-9ft trolling rod is perfect but some might want the line capacity of a 300 size reel. 40 P-Line Braid with 20 lb. P-Line SS Fluorocarbon Leader hand the biggest fish and help out your presentation. www.anglerwesttv.com/P-Line.aspx Call (530) 510-0514 if you need any help.

Can you use scent on your lures? Is that considered bait? Help me out going there soon.
@AnglerWestTV6 жыл бұрын
No scent allowed on Pyramid. In the episode we are using Pro Cure UV Flash which is scentless. It just helps grab available light and makes the lures more visible to the fish. Really good in low light conditions. www.anglerwesttv.com/supergel2oz.aspx

Using Boga grips to pull out large trout without supporting their bodies is not ethical. Surely with all Equipment you have on your boat you can use the Boga grips briefly but support their body. Hanging them by their lips for pictures can’t be good for the fish.
@AnglerWestTV3 жыл бұрын
You're right about that. I'll be sure to not let that happen in the future.
