No idea how anyone could go on a tuna trip like this after going on live bait trips outa Westport or ilwaco. In cananda can you bring gear to jig up ur own bait like the guys outa Newport and southern oregon ports do at least?

Tuna fishing out of Winter Harbour is an added bonus. The year before this episode was filmed we got our tuna and then jigged up limits of Lincod in the same day. It might be possible to make bait up there but given the relatively short window of opportunity and the effectiveness of trolling, it just wouldn't make sense or be as fun to try to sit on schools of fish. It's just a different fishery where salmon, lingcod and halibut are the main focus.

@@AnglerWestTV I wasn't trying to downgrade WH, that's a dream trip for me to get up there for world class halibut and salmon just thinking it would be tough to give up a day of that to go troll for tuna with out bait stops lol.

Tuna fishing is just an option. No problem just focusing on the other species but if you have your limits of everything else you might as well get your tuna as well.

20 per person is the limit but 10 is plenty.
