I have been in churches who would have called this "tedious and dreary." I left those churches...I love this. Love it.

I think this was nice and dignified

beautiful in every way, one small suggestion, this plain chant is from Psalm 24. I really love all your singing, and played it over and over. It is so much like my own church's service.

Congregations generally do not join in the singing of psalms. Historically - I may be wrong - they are the province of the choir as they need much practice: especially the Anglican non-metrical form. Psalms sometimes come off as tedious as it is essentially a repetition. It is not a canticle. Given the size of this choir, I think they made the best of what they have.

@celtusguy "Oh and by the way", yes it is - completely - by the way except to demean someone whose opinion is different to yours. We are not here to discuss spelling anymore than "by the way" neither Shakespeare nor many of the greatest names in English literature were less concerned about how they spelled than grammar - something contemporary English/American culture has totally reversed. My point is still the same. You are at home where you are; leave others alone, and live and let live.

Certainly not tedious and dreary, but it's a shame it's not being sung by the entire congregation - it's a simple chant and would sound better that way IMO.

@organisten just for your information if you regard Palestrina, Tallis, Byrd et al trendy, then I guess I must be! I sing in a church choir where we sing Mass settings, Anthems and Motets by such composers together with Plainsong and Anglican Chant and we sing the Chant as a song of praise, not as a tedious Dirge....oh by the way....ple(a)nty as not got a A in it!.....SO, go back to sleep with your tedious and dreary way of singing!
