I came back from my 10th radiotherapy session , and found this in my feed. Put my feet up, lay down and closed my eyes. This brought such peace.

Wish you all the best with your therapy, I am glad you can find strength and peace in our Orthodox faith.I was born as Orthodox and for long time took it for granted, but now in troublesome times it is my main strength and comfort.Everything is in our Liturgija, no words are needed.

Hearing this priest's story was so interesting. I too lived in Berlin, NH, where my dad was the priest at the Orthodox Church mentioned in the video in the late '90s - early 2000s. I also studied at Bishop's too, though it had become completely secularized by the time I attended. What's more, I too moved to Toronto later in my life. I'd love to attend the liturgy at his church at some point.

Starting at @37:30… I love what Fr. David said here. St. Clement of Ohrid fought on the shoulders of his teachers St.s Cyril and Methodius to bring the message of salvation to the Slavic languages. He and St. Naum fought the trilingual heresy, and made a point for the church to be local, not ethnic of constrained to a language. Glory to God for the faith and knowing it in our native language.

Father David Belden’s message to the young people (transcribed from timestamp 47 min.): Our Lord did not come to overturn the overfallen human condition, our Lord came to give us everything we need to get thru he fallen human condition, and everything we need to to get thru fallen human condition is found in the Church, everything we possibly could need, the Holy Mysteries: of commfession, of communion, of unction, of daily prayer, of fasting, and Scripture-reading at the very top; all of these things are absolutely essential to the Christian life and to the salvation of my soul.

That was very insensitive of the Priest's wife and brother. Orthodoxy is not a language nor a race.
