MUSKY FISHING AND PIKE CATCHING!! - Awesome Boat-Side Blow-Up on Kodiak Navin

Nathan and I ditch the 17 ft Crestliner in favor of the little 12 ft Alumacraft in order to fish a river for musky and northern pike. We know there are muskies in this river, and we encounter a few but the northern pike were more than willing to bite this day so you take what the river will give you! I was having a lot of action on a Lee Lures 8" Pelagic Swim that I altered slightly to have the back hook on a bit of a dropper to help in hooking swiping fish. Nate has a surprising boat-side blow-up from a nice musky on a Chaos Tackle Kodiak Navin.

So I see the shallow invader mod to the hooks of your bait. Did you Upsize to 3/0 or did you go with 2's? I love the bait but I keep getting fouled and have switched to a solid wire leader with gentle taps before a straight retrieve.

jarrod roering I just used the hooks that were originally on the bait, just wanted the back hook a little further back and dropped a little for fish that were swiping at the bait. Still hangs up every now and again, but not too bad.

John Holliday I Typically use either Power Pro or Suffix 832 both in 80 lb test.

@@AnglingAnarchy Had awful luck with braid where I fish, too much broken concrete. I'm one of the lucky ones that got several batches of bad PowerPro, had 80lb that would break under 45lb. I've sworn off braid, but, have been debating giving it another try.
