Are all the rods 13.6 wraps mate
@LeeFranks-zk2vg12 күн бұрын
For the marker rod does it have to be same size off your rods
@AnglingDirectTV10 күн бұрын
You can use either 10ft or 12ft marker rods.

What about if water is deep do u have to use a marker float and add the depth onto the wrap so wen u cast and hit your line clip and hold the rod till you feel the led hit bottom would that be in the right area?
@AnglingDirectTV5 ай бұрын
Marker rod and fishing lead always on the same clip as they both go down to the bottom. Your spomb/spod is different as it opens the bait out on the surface so will bait behind you rigs as it doesn't swing back like your fishing rod/marker rod to the bottom. 1 foot off your spod for every 3 feet of water. You would have to cast your marker rod out on the clip then remove the clip to let the float up to get the depth. Hope that helps?

So when you cast out with the likne clipped, the weight and momentum of the lead being cast out doesn’t cause the line to snap when it bottoms out against the clip? Are you using very heavy braid?
@AnglingDirectTV10 ай бұрын
Putting the line in the clip will determine the distance of the cast, but you will need to judge the amount of power needed when casting depending on the distance so that you don't hit the line clip too aggressively. Using 15lb mainline you would have to hit the line clip very hard to break the line.

Great video. What make of rods are you using?

Hi Ryan, I'm using Greys rods. I use a Greys GT Marker rod for my feature finding and spodding.

How important do you think it is to take a foot off every 3ft of depth? As I've never really had problems with catching in the past whilst spodding out to an area. Lake can be between 10-15ft deep
@AnglingDirectTV Жыл бұрын
Hi Reuben, its pretty important. You will still catch fish not doing it but you will 100% be baiting past the your rig. Try taking a 3 foot off your Spod clip and the bait will be falling just past your rigs which will help. Thanks

Please please can someone explain the "DONK" as it's one thing never ever covered ...and I've been carp fishing well over twenty years... I think I know what it is , but who knows ..cheers ..
@AnglingDirectTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl, its a term used for when the lead hits a nice firm (presentable) lake bed. It's something we will be coving in a Learn To Fish very soon. Keep your eyes peeled. 👍🏼

Quick question do you have to do your wraps before every cast because I’m assuming you don’t wanna leave your line clipped after casting. I’ve seen videos about using bank sticks but they never mention this.
@Matt-ft2fc2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you should never leave your rod clipped up if its fishing unless you want to risk losing a rod

Never keep your rods wrapped up except if you are spodding to a spot wrap up your rods cast out and then unclip them but while marking up put some marker elastic just above where you are clipling and when you bring your rod in you will still have a marker and won't have to re wrap

What if youve got a 13ft fishing rod but a 12ft spod and marker?
@ryanwooldridge75469 ай бұрын
Literally makes no difference as long as your distance sticks don't move
@raybriggs45292 жыл бұрын
You were talking about for every 3ft of water take a foot off your spod rod, could you also step back a couple of feet from your casting spot, would that do the same job?
@AnglingDirectTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ray. If you had the space you could step back, that would work. 👍🏼

@@AnglingDirectTV Many thanks, also do you mind if I ask, do you need to do a figure of 8 when wrapping? I find it easer to just go around the sticks

Could you do it the other way round ? And put your marker and spomb at the same and then add the foot on the rods your fishing with ? So add the foot on your fishing rods ?
@AnglingDirectTV2 жыл бұрын
Not really as your rig will then be past where you have felt the marker lead down (knowing its clear) It could be in weed etc.
