sometimes skipping a card is better than taking a mediocre card that may add garbage and THICken the deck too much learnt that from others...and I still need to get this game though

Yup, also going to shops and removing cards is a vital part of building the deck so not trying to go to lots of shops or not taking a remove card from the cleric for 50 gold ;/ Is a miss play. Say if you have 4 strikes and one anger (strike but free) you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a free 6 damage. If you get rid of one strike it is 1 in 4. (also velvet choker is a very bad pick for a deck revolving around lots of free cards and draw cards.)

While true, this really depends on both your play style and the build you're going for. With the Ironclad, I tend to like builds based around ridiculous amounts of block using Barricade (block doesn't expire at end of turn), that one card that doubles your block and Body Slam (deal damage equal to your current block), or around gaining ridiculous amounts of strength using Limit Break+ (doesn't exhaust after use).

Last I played was in summer, but in endless as ironclad my final deck was 4 cards big and killed everything turn one after 7 cards played. Small decks are huge in this game. (works with the silent and poison too) The other way to play it however is huge decks is huge (by playing as the defect) adding the card that deals 1 damage for every card in your deck and then just getting a deck of over 100 cards.

Classic deck building game mechanics. Dominion (the first deck building board game?) used the same ideas; with the addition that having enough victory points to win potentially fills your hand with useless cards (e.g. the "wound" cards in this game).

One thing I love about this game is you can either; not make a single misplay yet die really quickly, or end up making loads of mistakes yet still sail through. Any likelihood of you trying out a few mods at some point? There's some great ones out there!

Card removal's actually pretty good. Almost every card in the game is better than a basic Strike or Defend, so you can lose a couple of those early on once you've acquired superior alternatives.

Also, Velvet Choker is bad in an Anger/Clash deck. It limits the number of Angers you can pump out drastically.

i counted 8-10 misplays depending on if you count taking the velvet chocker and taking reaper over limit brake. Taking the velvet chocker on a rage build is just such a terrible idea.

Iron clad was the last hero I beat this game with. I feel like the other hero's have quite clear combos/ strategy that work amazing. Iron clad is just a basic bip bap smick smack boy. Combos seem to come more late game and its difficult to know how to set up when you first start playing

You need to remove weak cards from your hand whenever you can. That increases the frequency of stronger cards.

if you have a choice between knocking off armour or takng no damage, taking no damage is the better option as shields usually go after the round. Also thorns is one of the best buffs you can have for the 2nd floor i think. i also think the best upgrade you could do to this deck would probably of been the rage, as that is a super good card

This game is all about getting rid of cards from your deck. After an embarrassing number of runs you'll find that you recognize the key cards that work with specific combos. Then you just hope that you can draft the rest of the combo and ruthlessly remove any non essential cards. If I remember correctly my best end game decks were usually 10-12 cards. TLDR: Skip 95% of the card drafts, use shops to destroy cards, pick random events that let you remove cards.

I disagree, i have only thrown cards away when i have to and have seen a pretty good success rate- my best rounds come in when i have 30-40 cards. Although the game does become relic dependent to a degree, i tend to find having mind fry makes the game a cake walk and Eternal Feather a god send

@@lordkilljoy9652 Your draw rate divided by your deck size determines the average quality of your hand. If you keep all the basic strikes and defends then you are drawing them instead of your much better attack and block cards. It's more useful to think of proportions than total numbers. As a general build you may want 30% defense cards, 50-60% attack cards, 10-20% utility cards. You can have that proportionality with a 10 card deck, or a thirty card deck. The chance that you will find 10 really good cards that have synergy is 3 times better than the chance that you'll find 30 cards of equal quality and synergy. Even if you did have a 30 card deck of equal quality you would STILL have a lower chance of drawing a useful hand because you would have a greater chance of drawing redundant cards.

keeping your deck slim is a powerful strat. 50g to remove a card is a good strat. Remove curses first then strikes and defends as they have the worst stat line
