My sister got this little kitten. Too small to be away from mom. He took such a liking to me I raised him. He always wanted to go outside. I played with him pretty rough like another cat would. He had his territories and other unfriendly cats, and dogs faced his wrath. I saw him on top of a big dog running away. He loved people and would go out to visit my neighbors in their apartments. He had cat friends that would stop by. I miss my buddy Elliot. He was 22 when he passed.

Our rescued cat Karma has taken on the local foxes much bigger than her, and she kept them off the property. She ambushed one fox as he was walking past, and he ran she went to the edge of the property, and she stayed there to keep him out. She also came and woke us up when we had intruders in our yard. Cats are very loyal. I really think humans have had a much closer history of hunting together with cats than is realized. They are really very clever animals.

From the shape I’m guessing it’s a European wild cat. They are very similar to domestic black tabbies, however their coats are thicker, they’re bigger, and have a bit more muscle then regular house cats. They’re also found in the wild.

Despite the implication of animosity between cats and raccoons, I would question that premise. I had a dark calico cat who hated any human (though, of course, we fed her). One day my wife came into thye laundry room from the yard where she had been using the solar clothes dryer. As she came in, she was nearly knocked over by the cat, followed by a juvenile raccoon. The two had been amicably lunching together at the feed bowl until she interrupted them. So much for guard cat duty.

I love how the first one was a raccoon just breaking up a cat fight The dude just ran in there, barrelled into the middle, then turned back around and ran off. I don't know if he hated the noise, was buddies with one of them, thought one of the cats was a raccoon, or was just on a mission for peace, but the little dude had a mission and he completed it, and I respect that.
