I own a landscaping company too. I ran into a similar situation once. The owners were elderly and wanted the land cleaned up. The grandson didn't. He was very aggressive. He called the police once. They came out and nearly arrested him for harassment. The grand parents had no idea.

Because he’s not an angry contentious person. He is understanding and has forgiveness in his heart. His ego is not harmed in any way, because he barely gives it the time of day. Someone living to help out others is not interested in jumping into the police or court system. Especially over some contentious rain. You have no idea who you will draw when you decide to use that system, and it will most likely come back into your face negatively. Those that want to sue for every little thing are just as bad as the person who caused them to want to sue. While spitting is technically assault, it’s not truly assault.

In most states, and specifically because of HIV and Hepatitis, spitting on another is considered a crime (assault). You can have him arrested and even compel him to prove he has zero communicable diseases. If he does, it takes simple assault right into felony territory. I seriously doubt he has any legal claim to the land, it’s more likely he’s a poacher. I’m unaware of any state that allows hunting with firearms in such close proximity to a roadway, so feel free to ask the actual owner if he would like the hide removed as well. 😉 Great job, guys. Most states have publicly accessible assessor maps. Some show who the owner is. It's a good way to spit-ball property lines as well as cold call properties for purchase.

I purchased a home, for years the previous owners had allowed hunting even out of season, trapping, ATV, snowmobile use, camping ect. He told people i was fine with it as well after the sale. First 3-4 years had police and encon officers called on me for stopping their trespassing and hunting activities and by me for them trespassing, pointing guns at me, cutting my fence, ripping down no hunting signs and cameras..Still have people 10 years latter still saying they own or had permission to use my property. Some people just suck.
