Ukraine's top negotiator, Davyd Arakhamia: Russia was "prepared to end the war if we agreed to... neutrality, and committed that we would not join NATO." But the US and UK stood in the way.

Sometimes it's like the Kiev regime is like the tail wagging the (NATO) dog - I think the big guys in Washington have occasionally been genuinely surprised at the carefree chutzpah of their Ukrainian fellas, and haven't known how to handle them...The media have nearly always wanted to tell the story as if Kiev, Brussels and Washington were perfect brothers in arms, Three Jolly Good Musketeers with the same ideas about how to handle the war, one common will and going in the same direction - but in fact that was never true. There have been underlying tensions between them from the start,.

The pretences of the EU to be a democratic setup are a joke, they're a VIP club and operate with minimal real oversight from ordinary citizens. It's practically impossible for any one political party in an EU country to really influence, on their own, what the top brass of this "union" decides to do, if said party is not leading the government in its home country. The EU leadership has betrayed its supposed core commitment to peace and shared security across Europe, and the political elite of my own country - Sweden - threw two hundred years of non-alignment and careful foreign politics on the scrapheap in order to join NATO and bend their knees for Uncle Sam. D1sgusting!

41:00 Mercouris blathers about the name a town that Mercouris himself says he will likely never talk about again. His rationale for using one name instead of the other is to avoid confusion in the future, but we know that this is impossible because he will, as he typically does, repeat himself. Elensky's so-called "10-point peace plan" (which the unified West has been backing from the word go) is modelled on how Germany was treated in the aftermath of WW1 and WW2 respectively. It's a combo of both of those phases (in neither case was there any real peace negotiations with representatives for Germany,: in 1919 the Germans were hust handed the finished result of the Versailles conference and told: "sign right here, you accept everything or else you will be occupied!", and after 1945 there was no real peace conference at all: Germany as a state was just zero'ed, shrunk and rebooted in two wholly on the terms of the victors). Plus Elensky wants war criminal trials a la Nuremberg, and so on. This kind of approach is not going to happen at all unless it's underwritten by a 20-0 knockout victory on the battlefield plus regime change in Moscow, neither of which looks at all likely - but the West have painted themselves into a corner over how to finish this conflict, nobody wants to openly say that Elensky's lan is unrealistic. Until more top politicians are willing to face the music and admit that Kiev's ideas of the endgame are delusional, it's very hard to end this war.

@@jesan733 This war was provoked by the US (with Ukraine as a willing proxy) and it has nothing to do with "making Europe safe for democracy" or safeguarding some ethical principles of territorial integrity or whatever - the reasons are about geopolitics and the US wanting to make use of Ukraine to corner Russia. I think Brussels have just been acting in a Panglossian, hypocritical way, but the US is "the Man behind the Curtain" to them so they probably felt it was natural. ;) I'm from a country that's part of the EU btw, but thoroughly disillusioned with how most of Europe has been handling this crisis.

UA 47th Brigade is supposedly in Donetsk Oblast at the front. The Russians probably hit some decoy or null target in Sumy. This is quite typical , RU MoD thinks just because some object is fired at: its real and that the target was hit and destroyed when quite often none of those things is in place: the target could be a decoy, the target could have been missed, or nothing was there, or the military asset already left the area... or they just made the story up... As an Example: Only 15 out of every 100 UA jet planes the Russians say are shot down are actually confirmed destroyed afterwards... At one point in the war Russia claimed x60 HIMARS launchers destroyed at a time when the USA had provided only 20 of these wheeled vehicles to Ukraine. How involved the US might have been in planning and/or execution I won’t (can’t really) hazard a guess. That the US didn’t know is a double edged knife - either it’s true, and the US indirectly admits to outright incompetence (possible with the Dementia Admin) or they are lying their butts off, the more likely of the two. I recall the wave of outrage that washed over the US when it was claimed that Russia offered a bounty to the Taliban for dead US Soldiers. I can easily imagine the Russians being infuriated by an American backed invasion of their sovereign territory. People who play with matches eventually get burned, but I for one don’t want to go up in flames along with the current unhinged “leadership” in the US

Absolute nonsense. Lazy thinking. What is your agenda? Precise high tech weapons can and will disarm hostile threats with razor sharp precision, at unimaginable speed whilst minimizing loss of civilian life. Neither a genocidal Hiroshima / Nagasaki U.S. neocon style « statement » without necessity nor a terrorist attacked in a nuclear plant aimed at triggering a Chernobyl like enduring environmental catastrophe across the region… these would be self harming and make of the nation responsible for it an isolated pariah condemned by the whole of humanity. Only the U.S. neocon regime has ever deployed such a blunt, unforgivably inhumane and irresponsible scorched earth weapon - to its everlasting shame. 🤦🏻✊👊

The only reason that Ukraine forces remain in Kursk is because Ukraine has continued to pour more of their best into Kursk. This is a windfall for Russia, especially since the Ukrainians are contained and not a threat. When Ukraine quits sending more forces in, Russia will turn the meat grinder on high. Ukraine is not going to make-it to 2025, maybe not even October.

Far rather have extensive and systematic, in depth reports from Mercouris than short cut versions because of transient technical difficulties of no real importance - in respect of a 24/7 global audience. These reports are an invaluable lifeline to a carefully weighted balanced facts-based analysis of complex shifting geopolitical realities. Honest reporting is a rare commodity in today’s propoganda narrative driven media war. The more detailed full length reports from Mercouris and the Duran the better. S’il vous plaît. The units involved in it underwent combat coordination in training centers in the UK and Germany. Military advisers from NATO countries are providing assistance in managing the AFU units that have invaded RU territory, and in the use of Western weapons and military equipment by UKR". @jackdaniels69492 ай бұрын
@@jesan733if you watch the following poor results , mostly defeat at Pokrovsk etc , it was all not very smart but rather stupid. If Chinese prepared some sort of peace negotiations or at least ceasefire, they will now have no trust in Ukrainian "diplomacy" and rather wait till the Russians have finished their military solution. This will be very unfavorable for Ukraine. Thus also not smart from this perspective. All in all the Ukrainian foreign policy is weak , there is not much except for begging , insulting and deceit.

"with a clip of a Ukrainian soldier in Kursk stating the Kursk nuclear plant was their aim." Its a WAR. Ukrainians are allowed to release disinformation BS just as surely as the Russians are.... Let the Russians think Kursk NPP was the objective. Let them send resources to defend it in place while the UA side breaks in through another weak spot in the RU frontlines.. crap about the UA side attacking NPPs was generated by RU FSB and is therefore rather dodgy
