History teaches that in imperial wars - from the Romans stopping at Hadrian's Wall to Napoleon's Spanish Ulcer to the American Revolution and Vietnam - the Great Power of the day will only disengage when it finally sees the long-term costs are not sustainable -- therefore providing more support for Ukraine's very capable defenders is the best way to stop the conflict.

The "Analysts" still are not able to understand the reason for the Kursk invasion by Ukraine, but the Analysts also did not expect Ukraine to take out the Russian Navy. Ukraine are strategic genius who are teaching the world a number of lessons in warfare given the way that the West have restricted Ukraine, and still Ukraine continue to surprise, not only Russia, but the world. I believe that there are a number of countries who would rather fight against Russia than against Ukraine, regardless of their readiness.

Yeah, capturing at such a staggering cost a string of villages in the middle of nowhere that can't be held makes zero military sense. Doing that when a vital logistic hub of your army like Pokrovsk is about to fall is making Zelenskyy the top candidate for Darwin Award in this century. Zelenskyy Kursk misadventure already failed spectacularly, but due to his obsession with media hype he is simply incapable even to cut snowballing losses and as always he is just reinforcing the failure. It's the same nutty pattern as was with Bakhmut, Krinky or a publicly announced failed Zelenskyy offensive in 2023 . Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps on giving to the Russians advised by even nuttier DC gifts.

Negotiations? Negotiations around a table with Russia are futile; Russia won't honor any agreement. The real negotiations are taking place right now on the battlefield. In the position Russia is in right now, Ukraine should capture Russia's flag. I don't think Russia could muster any meaningful defense if Ukraine decided to do a cannonball run to Moscow to capture the Kremlin. Unlike Prigozhin, Ukraine would have air cover. Putin would flee to St. Petersburg, again, this time risking being shot down. Maybe then Russia would see Putin as the weak, small man he really is.

The Iskander OTRK operators managed to catch the Ukrainian Su-24 bomber at the Ukrainian Armed Forces Dnipro airfield in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike was carried out during the preparation of the aircraft for a combat flight. The Ministry of Defense published objective control footage, which captured the moment the enemy aircraft was hit. At the time of arrival, technical personnel were attaching airborne weapons (Storm Shadow missiles) to the aircraft's pylons. Suspended ammunition and full fuel tanks added power to the Su-24's detonation. It is obvious that in addition to the aircraft itself, ground equipment and personnel of the Ukrainian Air Force base were destroyed. The aircraft was probably preparing to make another attempt to attack Crimea. Let us recall that last night, air defense systems intercepted 12 Anglo-French Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG cruise missiles in the Kerch region. In addition, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, the crew of the Russian Aerospace Forces Su-34 destroyed a rare Ukrainian S-125 air defense system in the Sumy region with an Kh-35 guided missile.
