Horrible idea, greed will be the death of the beautiful game
@alanfox6912 ай бұрын
It will be the death of all professional sports globally it's not just football. And playing Premier League games globally is going to happen no matter what the fans think &:so will this European Super League in some form time to milk that cash cow like never before.

Has been the death. Football died years ago
@rupertwilmot47922 ай бұрын
@@ashwilliams4959 I disagree, football is still hanging on by a thread, you're right though that greed has really damaged it and I believe this would be the final nail in the coffin. Allowing foreign owners has really changed English football for the worse however id say that an emphasis on athleticism has been more of a sucker punch than anything else, definitely not as exciting to watch as it was 20 years ago.
@ashwilliams49592 ай бұрын
@rupertwilmot4792 na it's dead. Watch any game at any level and listen for the crowd, you might hear the odd cough or sneeze. The game itself has become robotic, a mix of over training and the way they wanted the sport to go hence free kicks everytime someone lifts a foot.. its not even just English football it's all European football, almost as if the American and Saudi owners want football in their countries and the way they usually do things... its destroy others and take what they had
@rupertwilmot47922 ай бұрын
I think that says more about society than football. Technology, the internet, the media, the education system and the government has absolutely destroyed the sense of community in this country

Integrity of competition must be first and foremost. Imagine a team fighting for an important spot, surviving relegation, or even a title, and your club has to travel abroad for that one game, giving up any home advantage, adding jet leg, and you lose important points. Sure the NBA and NFL have the odd games abroad, but they need to grow the brand and sports popularity around the World. But, most obvious is that they're league games, not important playoff games, which they'll never put themselves at a disadvantage for. The comparison has big difference in context. The Prem format ensures every league game is important. And lastly, but not least, it's extra travel for players which they really don't need over an already packed season. 'Sparing US fans one game' as someone said, isn't the point. Adding disadvantage and extra variables which are only megative to the season is not what a real fan should want.

What do you mean 30 years exactly? People from around the World contribute, do they get a game? Personally, it doens't matter, league games should be played where they're based. And any true fan where the club comes first shouldn't want extra variables when needing a win. Every match is important is the point. It's not like the NBA playing league games abroad where they can comfortably scratch one off. They wouldn't do it with a playoff game though for the same reason. You gotta see it from both sides.

The Premier League will never, ever be regarded as the greatest league in the world when homegrown fans are being priced out, American owners are destroying or not looking after certain clubs properly and homegrown academy players are leaving England and going to Germany, France and Spain to develop their football knowledge when they are not getting the proper training and help they require

If you want your team to have the best players, you have to think progressively. This is how a club grows. You should be proud of your club, its become an international brand, and its outgrown your town. Why hold it back?

if they do it, it will be so clubs earn more money. and then what i think will happen is.... it will make no difference what so ever because that extra money will be spent on players wages. its a joke that these players earning more than i ever will in a few weeks, who go to work for a few hours a day and by work i mean play football and training, they are all so tired and hard done by. granted not all of them are like this but get a grip. people here working and actually working and still cannot afford to get enough food on the table. they get a summer off to spend their millions. its gone too far now, its not a working class sport anymore. people working the majority of their weeks for pennies compared and then fork out for tickets and you get players whinging on about being tired with their 10 hour working week which is made up of playing footy and having spa sessions. and to add, if we want to play a bit footy it costs us to hire the pitch. not all of them but some of them can do one like. really annoying!

They do fir a game or two. Big difference though, their league games are so many they can scratch one off with playoffs down the road. With football every Prem game is important. Ita comparing apples and oranges and no way should be played abroad. Imagine that one game you drop points playing there which adds more disadvantages and variables, and you lose out on top 4 or the title. F that its a dumb idea.
