Another “outfitter” making friends. If you’re flying over someone else’s property, shining lights, that’s a problem. Just be courteous and respectful to other people who don’t understand exactly what you’re doing. This video does nothing to promote the benefits of drone deer recovery, in fact could be used in favor of further restrictions. This video is a great argument for the anti-drone segment to restrict night time recovery operations. That “outfitter” was extremely disrespectful. I’m a landowner myself. I have never, and will never, deny anyone permission to recover deer, until… you tell me the best thing to do is get back in my truck.

I had a neighbor wound a deer this year, called in a thermal drone (illegal in my state). Then they proceeded to chase the deer with the thermal drone around and through my property letting it sit a few hours at a time without my knowledge. This went on for over 48 hours and they only contacted me after 24 hours had passed! I'm all for recovering your animals. I'm against using drones to scout other people's properties without consent. I'm totally against the new mentality of hunting that seems to be just taking a bad shot and chasing it with technology.

In the video you stated that the deer wasn't going to die. I think it would probably been better to say it was probably not recoverable. Last year my neighbor shot a big buck in about the same exact location. I helped him look for it with no luck. I checked my cameras the next day and had many pictures of the buck by one of my water holes 3 hours after it was shot. I could see the wound and thought it may be ok, but some of the pictures it was closing it's eyes which was not a good sign. Another neighbor saw the buck in a field 2 days later not looking too good. That was the last time anyone saw it again. I never had it on camera again either. I would have to say it died and was never found.
@Kurtdog63Ай бұрын
Very likely this could happen where drones could be used to corral or run deer off one property on to another. The deer in this video don't appear to be paying attention to drone light, but guessing if you flew low enough, they would react. Notice the big mouth neighbor walked over onto his own property before acting like he was going to fight. Changes the legal dynamics.

So some one educate me on "Deer Recovery'? Because I see a Live deer being tracked by a drone so hunters can kill it ? Teach me the facts if you can ? Because in "my opinion " this appears to be a deer hunt, NOT a recovery . Clickbait.....the guy didn't want to fight the drone pilots so the title is a lie, he wanted to fight the outfitter for tracking a possible wounded deer on his property. I personally hate to see a deer get wounded by a hunter that is too incompetent to hit the mark where they don't go far, but these drones will be abused for the sport and should be outlawed for this activity altogether. If you want to recover your deer, use a firearm that is sighted in properly with enough knock down power and have the skill to take the proper shot, if you don't recover, then that's on you for sucking. I've been hunting for 28 years and have shot over a hundred deer in my time and have NEVER not recovered a deer, and I've never had one run more than 60 yards from where they were standing.
