My most hated, stupid moment of this series: when galadriel at the end was watching Adar getting wrecked, she also had 9 rings in her posession, and her elf ring, and she didn't run while she could. She had to protect the rings, and because the adar plan was on the floor, runing with the 10 rings would have stopped sauron's plan; but noooo, she had to stay there drooling. The only oportunity she had was to run while adar was getting wrecked, anything else would have resulted in disaster. And it happened; Sauron then beat her ass, and took the 10 f**** rings with no effort, he didn't even need to fight her personally, he could have sent an army after her, and take the rings without risk. I seriously started wanting the Orks to eat her alive!!, she basically handed like 70% of the rings in a silver platter to sauron. Galadriel=moron of the year.

Well... I mean she couldn't have won or got rid of the rings. The whole point of Lord of the RINGS is the stupid rings (I think they're stupid) so they kinda need to be in play. The problem with doing prequels to shows or movies is that you already know how it's going to end so everything has to lead up to that point. Which means there has to be plenty of times for the characters to get close but never able to stop the future events. They can't stop what's going to happen because we know what happens in the end so everything has to lead to that point

But, conveniently, Sauron just takes the nine rings, and not her ring as well for some reason. But even before that there was this stupid piece of plot where Celebrimbor is willing to buy her some time, subjecting himself to torture and death, and it's still night time when she is supposed to flee with the rings. But then it's day time and she's still in the city, saving random obese she-elves and girlbossing random orcs, who conveniently turn their backs on her and get themselves killed easily, or negotiate with her in the most civilized manner possible.

The creatures birthed in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy were Uruk-hai, which are basically the strongest form of Orc's created. But the original Orc's were the smaller more goblin looking ones seen taking orders from the bigger ones in the movies. And those are the ones in this show. But I'm pretty sure both are just dark monstrous creatures created by dark magic. I'm not actually knowledgeable on who initially created the original Orc's, but they certainly were never depicted as having loving families. The closest thing in lore to Orc's having families is there being fathers and sons referenced. Like "So and so, the son of the ruthless Orc General such and such" type of mentions.

I just hope that the fact they did the reviews, made people do not watch the show, I didn't, everything I heard is terrible, so I am not supporting it. Just on the Dwarven rings. By the third age they are all considered lost, or swallowed by dragons, and one was taken from Thrain in Dol Guldor. But at the council of Elrond they are mentioned and Gloin looks shifty, 'stirred, but did not speak.' indicating the Dwarves still have some but are telling no one.

He did very well. I've seen some cringe needs try to dog Peter for changes, but none of them felt out of the theme of lots. Difference between turning a eye on banners to a literal giant scary eye to remind the audience not familiar with him the presence of sauron. Then there's having sauron fight aragorn and Gandalf on the back of eagles over Mt doom, where the eagles also have special rings eowynn made from her stew.

Creating a show and producing/publishing a show are two very different things. What is likely going on is that the people behind those shows has greater creative control over their IPs and aren’t susceptible to corporate “suggestions”. For example, Vox Machina was fully funded for years to come by Critical Role’s hugely successful kickstarter. They don’t need the additional cash flow that would expose their product to outside tampering.

The writers of this show are those people who used to write those terrible Harry Potter fan fictions like My Immortal in the 2000s when they were teenagers, and grew up on this. Now they are adults, but never grew out of it, because they didn't want to educate themselves, since they think they know best. JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot crew has already screwed up Star Trek, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. They are a scourge.

I am glad I haven't watched Rings of Power. As a separate comment: I wish writers were faithful to source material in video game movies and not always make their own story and have the game companies encourage them to do so. What pisses me off most is that the source material of books are usually respected and the writers of the movie try to make the movie like the book but it's almost always the exact opposite in video game movie and series adaptations. How is it wrong to make a game movie follow a game story but right for a book movie to follow the original story.

I don't believe the ShowRunners when they said on Nerd of the Rings they didnt know the stranger was Grand Elf. Because there were clues all over both seasons - Follow your nose - A Gand - Grand Elf - Even the actor they cast - The hobbit connection I think the story they tried to tell shows they always knew. I am not sure why they wouldn't want to admit that though.

Man... Rings of Power make me appreciate a lot more The Hobbit trilogy, sure they have a nonsensical love triangle and cameos, dwarfs that look like humans and too many goofy scenes... but, at least they went all out with creatures and interesting environments... The spider trippy forest, the Goblings and the King, The Stone Trolls, The white Orc and those grey wolfs, watching a Dwarf Kingdom in it´s prime and Dwarfs working... Man and there's a lot more cool stuff... like a they have arguably the best CGI dragon ever to date with the golden coins sea-waves effect... 🤣

I think 1/10 is a little harsh... I think I would give it at least: +1 point for VFX and production quality. +1 point for Howard Shore's music and audio +1 point for the Sauron/Celebrimbor storyline (but just 1 point, it could have been a lot better) And season 2 was definitely better than season 1. 3/10 for me.

Howard shore was not involved. So their 2/10 matches your math. I hated the VFX and the Celebrimbor story. So my 1/10 is just because I can tell most of the actors are trying, and I appreciate their effort to polish the turd script. That's my 1 point: effort.

41:36 That's because you don't know how power works in the Lord of the Rings (it's fairly mysterious anyway). Just look at how Gandalf was able to take on the Balrog, while having all his "old man" woes, and he didn't deem himself able to take on the very weakened Sauron at the end of the third age, without the ring (which contains much of him), even as Gandalf the White. And here Sauron is not weakened (except by the Valar's war against Morgoth..). And he poses a pretty terrifying threat in the Silmarillion, both as a shapeshifter and with magic, intimidating the elves, and commands strong forces (e.g. werewolves).

Funny how Amazon throws a billion dollars at trying to make Rings of Power work when on the same streaming service, Legend of Vox Machina is dropping their 3rd season and they are KILLING IT every week the episodes air. Take my advice Joe, wash the bad taste of this show with Legend of Vox Machina. You don't need to have seen the livestream to follow the story and characters and it's a true labour of love where you feel the creators wanted to give their fans the best damn show based on their DnD adventures rather than trying to chase the Game of Thrones trend. If nothing else, you'll get to watch a pit demon drop kick an ice dragon.
