Greetings from Greece. I've been working as a live engineer for the past 11 years, I've used l'acoustics, d&b, meyer, eaw, ev and pretty much every big brand of line array under the sun. I first heard a kv2 system (es1.0 + 2x18 per side) about 4 years ago in a 250 seat venue, my jaw dropped when I heard the mids/highs of that system, the clarity was unbelievable, since then I was lucky enough to use kv2 systems a few more times and I was the happiest man alive in those shows. We've since bought 8 monitors for our rental rehearsal spaces, we have d&b m2 monitors in one of them, bands who switched locations and listened to the kv2 monitors for the first time usually giggle and ask us what the hell are these speakers? (the room sizes and acoustic treatment are exactly the same in all our rooms)

Like you, I toured for many years using all of the big line-array brands. It is a real revelation when you first hear a KV2 system, as you say the clarity is extraordinary. I really hope that people start to question the claims made about line-array technology that are simply not true when put into practical applications. For instance, if it is true that a properly configured line-array creates a perfectly coherent wavefront, then how can all of the high frequency content disappear when there is a cross-wind at an outdoor show. I have personally experienced this mixing hundreds of shows, where as soon as the wind blows, it sounds like someone has turned off the HF amps. During a recent demonstration of VHD5 at a large outdoor venue in Melbourne, a number of highly qualified live-sound engineers heard the system at 100 metres, with a 15kmh crosswind. There was almost no HF cancellation whatsoever. Everyone agreed, that had this been any line-array, that the results would have been very different. Simple empirical science.

Thanks Angus, Great interview, still love my analog point source system that now lives in my shed. listening with my eyes closed is still my test.

Thanks for this video.. I love KV2 and can't wait to use HVD5 (I did get to the end...) Ive been touring with KV2 (ES & VHD2) since about 2005 and love the sound. Its like the studio monitors for live use. When I started using KV2 I had to upgrade my mics, console, FX everything as I could hear all the issues I had never noticed before.
Thanks Angus - appreciate your input and easy to understand interpretations of Georges philosophies. One day, hopefully everyone will get to hear VHD5, as will the small throng of us Australia wide KV2 Audio believers, hopefully sooner than later.

Thank you for this very interesting interview indeed. Now I'm very curious to hear KV2 products, which under current corona virus conditions will prove to be hard, no doubt. When this is over I will make a point (no pun intended) of it.

Great Interview, just watched the whole thing. That's a great offer. I design/build studios & manufacture acoustic treatments, so I'm always talking to people about transient response of their monitoring system (& the room as a part of that system) and demonstrating the massive effects of destructive and constructive interference. So what you are talking about makes a lot of sense to me.
