Hi, I found your videos about IB while searching for information. I'm interested in becoming an IB student, because I find the structure of IB really beneficial and challenging. My school offers both IBDP and national education program. The problem is that I'm a senior in national program and I want to switch to IB, that means I will stay in high school for 1 more year to complete IB. Do you have any idea about this, is this possible? I submitted a question to ib-answers but they did not answer. So I wanted to ask someone else about this. Thank you ^-^

Hi! unfortunately I don't have an answer for you! I think what you need to do is get in contact with your school, and they will no doubt contact your parents as well, to discuss whether you can switch to the ib and stay a little longer in school :) they have done that for people in my school who have taken BTEC and IB (the IB case was because he failed the program) but it still probably depends on what your school has done or is willing to do 😄 if you don't need to switch to ib and you can get into the uni you want with the national diploma then I advise no need to switch the programs! hope this helps a little bit and good luck 😊😊😊

Hello, first of all thank you for taking the time to make and post these videos. I'm 2 weeks into my IB course and I think it's great :) The looks I get when I tell them that I'm taking HL Maths, Physics and History is quite interesting shall we say.... However, I want to take a self taught SL Mandarin instead of SL Computer Science. I am fluent in Mandarin but my Chinese reading and writing skills are at GCSE level xD I was born in China but had moved to England when I was 8. Do you have any advise? Thank you once again :)

Hi!!! hahaha no problem, I'm glad you liked them!! I had some friends who took GCSE German or other languages which were self taught because they could speak it fluently but the reading and writing were not that great xD I'm not sure about IB because the course is much more demanding than GCSE, but talk to your school and see what advice they have too! Do you need computer science for your uni? also what language are you already taking? many schools don't allow you to take dual language unfortunately 😞😞😞

I just found out that I was denied SL Mandarin because the headteacher believes that if I can do the self taught then my Mandarin is already too good therefore I shouldn't be allowed to take it xD I'm a bit disappointed but I have chosen to do HL Geography instead and do History at SL. I've heard that Geography HL is slightly easier to get a 7 on than History HL, is that true? Btw, don't worry I did Geography GCSE and was 3 marks off an A :)

Hahahaha I guess that's fair enough, just depends what your school is like! Yeah I took History in GCSE and thought it was stressful already (predicted A but got A* in the end) so was like hell no to timed essays xD HL geog may be easier for a 7 but you have to remember a lot of case studies and you have a longer exam I think? just be prepared to memorise them and you'll be fine 😂😂😂

Thanks! I remember that you took HL Maths tutoring from your top 10 ib survival tips, did you do it online or 1 to 1? Because I can't find any IB Maths tutors in my area, they all teach A-levels 😂

Hahaha yeah I did! well remembered 😄😄😄 yeah it was 1 to 1, that's the most effective way for me to learn at least! you could try online tutoring since there aren't any available near you, if not ask your teacher to go over problems or questions you may have 😊 (they are free too hahahaha)
