I am struggling in Ib . I have HL maths , physics and art too with SL chem literature and Hindi. I am finding really difficult to do art. Our teacher is also not very good and doesn’t really care and I am finding it really difficult to find a video telling me what we have to actually do step by step in art. I didn’t take art in gcse either so I am not really sure how to ideate and research for art properly. Can you please make a video on the basics of Ib art ( basically what my teacher is supposed to do but didn’t ) and hopeful choose one piece and take us through how you started, what you did in your journal first , how you research and made the final piece ? :)

hi! just wanted to say that i'm in a very similar place as you - I also take math physics and va on HL and also have quite a... well, not the most helpful teacher and we basically have to do everything on our own. I think one of the things that helped me the most were looking at tons of example process portfolios and comparative studies and also reading the va student guide (the one by the IB, nothing fancy). i think the most important thing in ib art is to be able to write about your process and pieces and justify/reflect on your decisions, more than any artistic abilites. it'll be ok!!!

Hi! My theme for my whole portfolio was Cubism and the development/journey of it, that's kind of why I chose to do a semi-circular exhibition so you could walk from start to end or vice versa. Most of my friends chose to do a linear line, but because Cubism is all about the 3D in the 2D it seemed to fit a lot more. :) Thank you so much! Glad you liked it :D

This is excellent information to show my IB students, but I can't with your door sign. My campus admin wouldn't appreciate it. I may have to show just short clips. Congrats on your score and again, this is great advice for IB students, minus the BS (pun intended).
