Does anyone know how he did the change of color of the hair? Is it something of the Cintiq or from SAI? I use SAI btw but I don't know how to so that

That's the "Change Hue/Saturation" option. I think it should be in the "Edit" menu but I'm not really sure where it's located in SAI.

Since they used a monochrome base (or a gray scale base) you can't use the change hue/saturation tool because it just won't do anything because they're aren't any colours to change. What you have to do is make a new layer directly above the shaded monochrome layer and change the layer type from 'normal' to 'overlay'. You can put any colour you want on the overlay layer and it will change the colour of the base (you can use clipping group to make sure it doesn't go outside the lines). Then you combine the layers and voila, you have successfully changed the colour of the hair/skin/whatever it is you are colouring (I don't use this technique much because I like to experiment with colours as I go but I have a friend who uses this method a lot ^^)

Okay, so here's a question: Which app is better (for the population), SAI or Krita? Just wondering since so many people use SAI, but I've found Krita to be much easier to use, especially since my tablet isn't as fancy as this one. xP Of course, downside is that I can't figure out if Luminosity is in Krita or not. :

趣味で絵を描いているものです。頭で想像したものをイメージ通り絵にするのは結構練習が必要ですねー。 土台として、ある程度人体描写（デッサン、パース、遠近法、解剖学）の知識が必要になります。

Manwhale N. If your looking to buy a cintiq, I would recommend an alternative monitor tablet other than Wacom. "Huion" is releasing a 22" tablet next month for less than HALF the Wacom counterpart. Compared at $900 to $2300

I think he colored in gray first so that he could focus more on the values of the picture like which part he wants the darkest and which part he wants the lightest, which is easier to do when coloring with just gray. ^_^

And also because when he fills in the colour for something light like her skin, it's better to use a darker colour, so you won't miss out any spots. Gray is also a neutral colour. :)
