Well, you definitely know what you're doing! This obviously wasn't the case with that store. Thanks for the comment!

I ask my owners to stay. Either the cat accepts the grooming with minimal protest, or he won't. If the cat is too stressed, I recommend sedation by a vet. A cat can be stressed to the point of dying. Fighting violently, pupils dilated, urinating, defacating, or panting are signs to STOP! Older cats, or cats with diabetes, hyperthroidism, kidney, liver, or heart disease should not be groomed without vet approval. If you aren't allowed to stay, get another groomer.

In this case, the owners were convinced by a groomer and the store that they know what they're doing. And of course, they wouldn't allow us to stay with the cat.

Well, Nusha is Balinese cat, but obviously that doesn't make the store less liable for the crime they've committed.

Cat owners should stay with their cats during grooming. If the groomer won't allow it, get another groomer. Most groomers are dog people and do not know how to handle cats, and do not have enough sense to stop if the cats is terrified and hostile. At that point, sedation by a veterinarian would make grooming process safer for the cat. I am a certified Master Cat Groomer and am appalled at what some groomers do to cats.
