We've raised lambs and bottle feed them, they were a lot of hard work. They were a lot of fun though and will bond with the people who feed them, as you'd expect. Once they are off the bottles they typically go about there own business but if you are a source of treats, they'll never leave you alone and they will play with you too as much as a dog would, if not more. Sheep are constantly hungry.

Cute Pet Lamb Lives In New York City Apartment Winter weary New Yorkers have been given a timely reminder that Spring has finally sprung. Smokey Da Lamb is turning heads in some of the city’s coolest neighbourhoods after chef Sandy Dee Hall, 34, and his girlfriend Maxine Cher, 24, adopted him. Smokey was born at Violet Hill Farm in upstate New York but was abandoned by his mother and would have likely died in the cold. Fortunately Sandy agreed to take him in when contacted by the farmer and Smokey was smuggled into his tiny apartment in the city’s Lower East Side. Smokey is bottle-fed three times a day and needs to be burped like a baby after he has had his formula. He needs regular baths and can only be washed with water so his fleece does not shrink.

I love the way lambs run, jump, and pounce in that springy kind of way, you just know that they're having fun doing that. They are so gentle and harmless, those animals wouldn't hurt an ant. And they do seem just as intelligent as dogs. Lambs and sheep should be pets and/or raised for their wool only. No more lamb and sheep slaughterhouses!!

What a wonderful animal. I love lambs and sheep. I don't understand why NY authorities make it illegal to have a pet lamb. I do understand though if they'd tell her to keep the lamb on a leash, I'm kinda surprised she didn't walking around such a huge city where it'll be so easy for the lamb to run off and become lost. But I totally share her enthusiasm on having a lamb. I want to adopt a couple of lambs one day. They are such pure, playful, loving, peaceful little animals

Raising a lamb in a small apartment in an urban area doesn't make any sense though. Once sheep get older, they need a lot more space and a city is not a viable option. If you're gonna raise a sheep, you need to at least have access to a large pasture. You also need to have 4-5 other sheep so that they can socialise with each other and develop normally. It makes sense why it's illegal to have them as pets in NY.

This is so sweet, more people should have pet lambs and sheep. I'm not sure about in NYC though, and a house with a back yard and grass is a more suitable place for a sheep than an apartment. But I don't think that the house has to only be in the country, a house in the suburbs of a city can be just as suitable. Maybe this guy and girl could've kept the lamb and raised him to sheephood and bought a house in New Rochelle or something, so they could still get to Manhattan whenever they wanted and had a house with a backyard and sheep to come home to

Ohhhh...this entire house must have been caught up in a tornado (think Dorothy and Toto) and landed smack in the middle of an onion field cause my eyes are running over with tears...I couldn't believe you weren't telling MY STORY here...I also adopted a three day old baby lamb that had been rejected by his mother and the owner had found him nearly frozen by his little self curled up in a corner of the pasture. The first four days I had Andi B. I had to use an eye dropper to feed him cause he was unable to use a bottle. He lived in my home with me til he was five months cause it was to cold for him to be outside and he was too little (You can put a diaper on them. Just need to cut out a small hole for their tail). That little guy was my BABY. Loved him soooo much. A month before his second birthday, I woke up to my dogs barking non-stop outside in the yard. When I went out there, I discovered two wild dogs had jumped my fence during the night (I lived on a 21/2 acre ranch in the desert) and they had killed my precious little Andi B. It just absolutely devastated me. To this day, I still cry from missing him so very much (as I am now).Thanks for sharing your story. He is just so precious and it's touching to see that this little guy knows he is so loved! Andi B. would do the same bouncey jumps and leaps. LOVED seeing your little one doing that. It is beyond adorable! !
