Lovely video Amie! Thanks so much for you participation in the AAC. The only kingfishers I've seen was when I was traveling to Africa. I believe we got to see three species, including this one. They're so cute!

the kingfisher was on the cover of my childhood fav book for determining local fauna so seeing it as an aac video just made me sooooo happy. so many good memories aftached and now even some of great art and infos! even though you dont draw a lot of moss/bark it looked soo beautiful!

The kingfisher is defiantly one of those bird that’s just iconic. Great choice and great result! I didn’t know they were so fiercely territorial. I’m for sure looking forward to the tutorial in the future, since I’m having some fun with colored pencils at the moment!

Such beautiful, striking colors! And interesting to hear about the bird, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a kingfisher in real life. Maybe on a holiday, but never in Finland, where I live. Wikipedia says Southern Finland is at the edge of their habitat so I do have a chance of seeing it.

Great video Amie! 😁 You did a beautiful job with the kingfisher. Being in northern Arizona (US) this is definitely not a bird we get to see in our drier climate. I appreciated learning about a new animal. 😃 Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Jennifer wasn’t kidding when she said that you did a gorgeous job on your kingfisher! Your style is one that completely boggles my mind and I’m absurdly impressed with just how many zillions of pencil strokes it took to create this. And how lovely to get to use exciting colors like teal! And that you got to work with textures that you don’t get to play with as often! I’ve never seen a kingfisher before, but I feel like I may as well have after seeing this video. Crazy colors are my favorite colors, and seeing them exist in the Wild is so wonderful! =^.^= Also, you did a great job of explaining the AAC in this video-I feel so shameful for having barely glazed over our mission in my video when it’s so, so important! Ah well.

Meow Meow Kapow thanks, Kat! 💖 it was a great piece to work on and one of pure indulgence...pieces like this always make me feel guilty for really enjoying them 🙈 when there are others that are such a task. I wouldn’t worry, I probably should have mentioned you and the other ladies a little more 🙈🙈

I was thinking about doing a kingfisher for this theme as well as they are incredibly beautiful! I just changed the animal I went with last minute 😅 Your artwork turned out so beautiful! You must be very skilled and patient to do such a realistic colored pencil piece!

New here, nice to meet you. Lovely Kingfisher art you've created. I've never seen one being from California, US., and I enjoyed hearing about them as you draw. Do you use a blender kind of method when using colored pencils? I am exploring drawing and watercolor these days and would enjoy using both. Warm regards, ~ Karla
