@@zach5381 Fun fact; Live TV audiences always contain a fair number of hired extras. It ensures every seat is filled on every show, and they are always very enthusiastic about what they see. Humans are social beings, so if the person next to you is clapping and cheering, you will too.

@@Just.Kidding we were outside on the pool deck, and it was on a TV mounted from the ceiling. We had run out of cigarettes 6 hours ago and cigarette butts 2 hours before that. One guy lit a fire in the rain and it stayed lit the whole time.

I saw these guys live a bunch of times in the 2000's and 2010's and they always put on a really unique and cool show. Haven't seen them since Centipede Hz came out, but I'd definitely say they're worth checking out if they come to your area.

As a Native English speaker, AnCo's lyrics for their songs are notoriously difficult to understand. The album version is actually easier to understand. Avery Tare (ballcap guy) actually adds a lot of improv to the lyrics by playing with vowel length and word emphasis in this live performance so it makes it even harder to understand.

I love this performance, but I don't get why Avey deliberately drags the vocals on the chorus. He does it every time. Why record it so precisely on the album and then always do this trippy slow-down effect live? *shrug

I think the AnCo boys make a lot of their live performances a little more “trippy” when they play live. I remember reading a while back that playing live is a blend of rehearsal and live jam, and the vocal thing is probably something g Avey did once that stuck.

@@juliansecomb3703 nah man, Animal Collective is amazing. They couldn't be any less pretentious. I've been listening to them for 15 years and love them more every year. Just because you fell out of love with them doesn't mean you've got the final say on if they're good or not
