It's interesting cause the soft locks showed that it's the animations that have the triggers and not the actions. So for example, when you hit a rock it has a clear start and end of the animation, neutral > rear back > hit rock > bounce back > neutral. Pretty simple. But, when the animation was change it was changed to one of the infinite emotions (the ones which continue until a new action is performed). So the game is trying to do neutral > emotions starts > [other in put detected] y/n > [if yes] return to neutral > [if no] loop. So, this animation doesn't automatically return to neutral. In theory as long as only infinite animation are swapped with one another there shouldn't be any soft locks, and as long as finite is swapped with finite the game will move the player to the expected position, not the animation position (like when pole vaulting). Anyways, interesting stuff.
