I feel like NL had so much life in it. Main street started off as a dead part of town but turned into a bustling shopping district as you unlocked more shops. There was also villagers walking about. Some of witch were old villagers who moved out. I miss that feeling of aliveness from NL.

@@mr_m4613 Nintendo is sadly not the type for updates. Acnh was an exception since the game wasn't finished but they needed to give the players something. They finish one game and then start working on the next part later without adding anything to that one before. They also said the 2.0 update would be the last big update. Maybe they'll change their mind if we protest hard enough lol

New Horizons just feels like so much missed potential, which hopefully means that it could translate into the next animal crossing game? Something I would love to see for a spin-off is the backstory for all the npcs, taking place in the childhood town of Tom Nook or something, so we could see personality. Bob’s Gang!

THEORY: Resetti and his brother run Air Control on your island. As Orville runs the counter and Wilbur flies the plane, they both aren't possibly able to manage airport control. However, now that autosaving has made the job of the Resetti bros. redundant, it is possible that they sought other tech-based employment on your island. Maybe they supervise Rescue Services from there and Wilbur fulfills requests on their behalf.

I’d like to explore more of Harv’s island. Maybe do some fishing. Hells, put some tents around for an opportunity to meet other characters to invite to your own island… …hells, why not have more characters just randomly visit your island? Not just stuck in that tent? Walking around. Checking out the museum. WhAtEvEr. Museum’s kind of dull and pointless, as is. Wouldn’t mind being able to swap that campsite for another character and home, too. And it would be nice if the “staff” [?] got out and wandered every once in awhile. Feels weird that Isabelle, Blathers, et al. never really move.

I would love to able access the back rooms in shops if you had to do something specific in the game or go a particular time to ‘unlock’ them. In city folk you could go to town around 8 in the evening and sometimes you be able to go through a tunnel and see where don and resetti worked and resetti would give you a silver watering can!

In the dlc, if you give a villager chocolates from the archipelago, theres a cut scene with the villager in the airport if you invite them to the island.

Bob's Gang. I like the idea of seeing villagers in the airport. Even the ones that are just coming to the campsite. It would be cool if they were there a day before they appear in the campsite and the day after. It would have allowed us more time to prep for them and give us a last shot. I hated when there was a villager in the site that I wanted but no open plots. Then the next day someone I didn't want as much asked to move. Also, why does everyone think that Redd is a thief? I mean, unless you're super rich, we don't buy original artwork in real life. I feel he's given a bad rep because people spend without really looking. If you know the real life work of art you'd know it was fake. When someone buys a replica of Van Gogh's Starry Night the retailer isn't going to say, "hey by the way, that's not the real art work. It's just a replica that I can make money from." Redd never says it's original, just "rare".

I wish you could see underwater when you dive in the game. that would be really cool since I know there's a coral reef just off the island. I also wish if you placed a cave on the island you'd actually be able to go inside the cave and have there be a bunch of minerals inside.

Your Villagers can technically be in the airport. You have to give them souvenir chocolates to take them over to the Archipelago but they're in there with you.

don't bag on yellow airports! i've decided yellow is actually my favorite airport color because the dodo airlines colors are blue & yellow but with a yellow airport/plane you can see the blue stripe and dot on the tail of the plane, presumably where the DAL logo would be if it were more detailed. so yeah, love me some yellow airports!

What I wished would come to New Horizons, is to have something that further encourages multiplayer, besides Nook Miles, and showing your friends what you decorated. New Leaf got this right with Tortimer Island's minigames, and I think some other stuff too. New Horizons, as much as I love Animal Crossing, is pretty barebones compared to some previous entries in the series. The ONE thing that immediately comes to my mind that New Horizons did better than previous games, was outdoor decorating. In previous entries, you either could not decorate anything outside, or in New Leaf's case, funding constructions to modify your town, which were not quick to move or remove by any means. New Horizons let you, for the most part, place any furnishings you want outside among the game's actual pool of obtainable items. Also, Villagers won't move out of your island in New Horizons unless you permit them to do so. No matter how long you have not booted up the game. Other than those things though, New Horizons feels like a downgrade to previous entries. I absolutely loved how brutal the dialog was in the Gamecube Animal Crossing, Wild World on NDS while stripped of real world holidays entirely, was the first time we could play Animal Crossing on the go. City Folk, was basically the Wii expansion to the NDS entry, Wild World (to the point Wild World could connect to City Folk if I recall correctly), but added the city, which had a selection of shops and places to go to choose from, and, it's what brought to us the third Able Sister "Label" who would return in later games since. New Leaf was great on it's own, but like New Horizons would do after, the dialog was so bland you'd tend to keep villagers not for your experiences with them, but for merely their looks, like a group of plushies that one may have. Which, is not the kind of "connection" you want with friends and neighbors. New Leaf however, benefitted greatly from the Welcome Amiibo update, it gave more to do, and new items to enjoy, and not only from solely Amiibos. Like, for the first time since the Gamecube version, you could actually play another game within Animal Crossing. Through the ingame furnishing Wii U and 3DSes. The ingame 3DS you could use to play Animal Crossing's take on "Panel de Pon", though you were at a huge disadvantage if you did not have an Animal Crossing figure Amiibo, it was still playable. The ingame Wii U would give you a better version of Amiibo Festival's "Desert Island Escape" mode. Now, you could use any villagers in your town (at 2 Play Coins per villager) to fill the party roles, and it gave you the option to scan Animal Crossing card Amiibos to get specific villagers in the party roles, further making it even less worth buying Amiibo Festival. New Leaf Welcome Amiibo also added new crossover villagers you could get to move into your town via non-Animal Crossing Amiibos. For example, the Smash 4 Princess Zelda Amiibo, would have Wolf Link from Twilight Princess, arrive in an RV, which you could use to buy special items from him you could not get elsewhere normally, and were given the option to have him move into your town. The majority of these crossover villagers never returned in New Horizons, the only crossover ones that returned in New Horizons was the Sanrio-themed villagers via the reprint of the Sanrio Amiibo cards. Which is a real shame. I was hoping to be able to move-in Epona from the Legend of Zelda franchise, into my island, but I cannot. Not that I actually have the Amiibo tied to her, but it would've been nice to actually have her in my Animal Crossing save file...

Okay so you need to have a 3 star island and once you do, Harvey will send you a letter that will say he's got something cool to show you. Then you go to Harvey's island and he'll talk to you about opening shops, and what not and you get to donate your bells to get the shops open. Hope that helps you!
