I had never heard of this compact before and also not about the controversy. I'm also not into Animal Crossing and not in the community... so no wonder~ I agree, it would have been easy enough to credit both artists...but maybe that would have cost the company even more money. Don't know how that works with artists etc🤔 but honestly didn't this company do what everyone wanted in the beginning? Make this a reality? And now everyone's mad about them😅 because having this idea and drawing the design is one thing. And I'm sure, the artists did both a wonderful job. But really producing something like this, is a whole other thing especially for a small business. So I think it's amazing they really managed to make this a reality. And there you can see how expensive something needs to be to be produced and how much of detail they needed to cut off. I guess they needed to take out these hanging things at a really late stage of production when the promotional images were already shot etc. And it's a good example of probably how much every single brush stroke costs when they were not able to do the stars on the t-shirt or the hair of the figurine. Super interesting. The stiffness of the opening mechanism reminds me of my Polly Pocket Pencil Case~ haha. Sounds the same😅 Thank you so much for showing this compact. Super duper interesting. Still cute despite all the controversy and the simplicity.

Haha, I thought it was just my Polly Pocket pencil case that sounded so awful. 😂 Kind of funny that it’s so noisy, when you know some kids in the 90s probably took it to school as their pencil holder. 😂 And I agree with you on all points. All of the artists are super talented and I’m sure spent a lot of time and effort on their work. But it takes a whole other set of artistic abilities to create an actual product. Plus, in the end, they’re all kind of ripping off Nintendo and Polly Pocket, so... 😅 Thanks so much for your comment! I really appreciate that you take the time to watch and comment on my videos. 💕

I live in Korea, and I still haven't received this product I ordered in May.. Today is the 12th of November... But here they are receiving Christmas products...😭 After watching this video, I felt that there are people who actually receive delivery.

I’m so sorry you haven’t received it yet! 😞 Have you contacted My Potato Games? I wrote them a lot while I was waiting and their estimate for delivery was kind of all over the place... They kept pushing the estimate farther and farther away. I would think you should have yours by now though since they’re done making them. I hope you get it soon! ❤️

this video makes me glad I ultimately never bought it, because it was supposed to be "limited edition" but they are still selling it, and their page claims an average of rating of 5/5... even the reviews complaining that they never received their purchase and the seller quit replying to emails all give 2 stars, which seems very suspect... there's a lot of things that don't add up around the seller, but your review does a great job showing what the actual product is

Yeah, I’ve been surprised by how long they’ve been selling this “limited” set. And I know I saw a lot of comments on their Facebook posts from people saying they never got their set. =( I emailed them a lot while I was waiting for mine, and it was hit or miss whether I’d get a reply. But I am very glad that you found my video helpful! 😊💕

Oh man. =( I’m sorry you haven’t gotten yours. I wrote them multiple times while I was waiting and they wouldn’t always respond to my emails either. When they did respond they kept telling me different estimated shipping dates. It was really frustrating. I feel like they may have gotten in over their head with it.

Deff not worth it, it’s $55… yet it’s very plain it’s like someone took the photos that the seller posted and recipient. Aka not the real thing. Doesn’t have any details that they showed should have.

Looks like they spent too much on the box. A visible shaped window and magnet closure is extremely unnecessary

Honestly unless the compact looks EXACT LIKE the art I don't see why they would need to credit the artist at all. Animal Crossing is already a well established look, and so is polly pocket. Anyone combining the two is going to get a result similar to this. Though obviously if it's way too similar to the artist's version that'd be uncool.

I just bought one of these as a gift for my son not knowing the controversy. The box on mine is destroyed, and it was shipped to me this way - there was no damage to the packaging/box it was shipped in. I went to see if anyone else was complaining about them which led me here. I really liked you video tho!!

I sadly have to agree with you there. They weren’t really able to deliver on what they promised. I hate that a lot of people still haven’t gotten their sets. I emailed the seller constantly over the months of waiting and kept getting conflicting answers from them, so I was really nervous I’d never get mine. Our family loves Animal Crossing, so I was really excited for my kids to see this set, but unfortunately it’s not a toy we reach for. It’s cute and all, but I think the seller stretched themselves too thin with it.
