you say your voiceover is terrible but i think this is actually much nicer to listen to when talking about a game like animal crossing. i feel like a lot of animal crossing youtubers are far too positive and animated in their voices, i like this more calm approach.

I've always liked the Wild World and City Folk aesthetics. These are my favorite looking Animal Crossing games. I feel that the later games look too polished and lack the whimsy that the Wild World and City Folk have.

honestly animal crossing always has struck me more like an handheld game, instead of an home system one. There is something magical about just having a lil town in your pocket or bag :]

It’s super late here but you actually could sell multiple items at a time in GCN you just had to press X to multi select and nobody tells you this in game

I started playing this game again one year ago. I still play everyday eventhough other people would maybe say that the game gets boring after 2 months. The thing that attached me that much to the game are the neighbours, which is so weird because I never cared about them when I played City Folk, Wild World, New Leaf and also New Horizons. At this point I managed to get photos of over 20 villagers and the number is still rising. I learned loving this game so much, even though I didn't play it that much in my past

You were definitely able to sell more than one item at a time in the gamecube version you just had to push a button first haha

I started playing Animal Crossing in my forties. Wild World was definitely better in terms of music. I briefly played New Leaf. New Horizons has more content but it's charm is lost on it's lack-luster music.

I'm really enjoying this and I'm only a few minutes in lol I hope you cover all of the animal crossing games. I don't know how you don't have a few hundred thousand subscribers yet. I appreciate your calm tone, I don't know how to describe it but it's soothing so I subscribed. I love game retrospectives especially about animal crossing, zelda, and pokemon. I just got the AC edition of the new 2ds xl for my birthday and I'm gonna start new towns in wild world & new leaf since it came with those games pre-installed. It's fun looking back at the older games and how ac has evolved in some ways. I miss an actual post office. 😮 sure it's not necessary and it's easier to have a stand but apart of the magic of ac is having stuff like that and characters like pelly and Phyllis. I want to take time out of my day to go send a letter through the post office...silly I know. Sorry for the long comment 😅

The problem with AC, is that it's one of those series where there's not much reason to play older versions of the game. Most games are mainly just improvements over the previous game. Even if some aspects are worse, there's usually enough new stuff to really make the previous game irrelevant. I get playing them for nostalgia, or if you don't have a newer console to play New Leaf or Horizons. But aside from those specific reasons, I don't see any point in playing an AC game aside from New Leaf or New Horizons. I do get why someone would choose NL over NH, they're different *enough* that I'd understand if someone preferred Leaf. But the rest of the series has less and less items and features as you go back, but otherwise it's the same game. It'd be like them making Minecraft 2, and it's just normal Minecraft but they added a bunch of new stuff. Like, there's be no point to playing the original game when the new one is the same game but with more content. There's not a story so there's no different story to play through. It's just the previous game +.

It may seem that way to you. But for many, "Wild World" conveys a completely different feeling than perhaps NL or NH. Of course you'd like to have some of the controls from the new games, but personally I liked just being a resident. I wasn't a mayor or a god. I Loved, that i had less control. The music gives you a much more calming feeling and even the villagers don't have as much character as in the old games. For some there may be far too little to do, but for others it's just right. I just want to do some fishing, catch a few insects, interact with the villagers (and Sometimes maybe be offended or Mad at Them) and drink coffee. That was quite enough for me. It was calming. There weren't many impressions. I was simply free in my digital retirement life and didn't have to worry about rebuilding the city. I don't need to play more or longer than that for the day. The dose is just right. Since the villagers are (in my opinion) very lifeless compared to older versions, especially in NH, there's relatively little to keep you, if you value this aspect. Redesigning the city never interested me. The focus has simply shifted in subsequent games. That is not reprehensible. I can understand that maybe some people wanted that because it was the aspect they were focusing on. I'm just trying to explain why some might prefer WW.

Villagers have steadily lost their personalities since this game and the villagers are the original main focus of the series. They also have not steadily improved the games they add features while taking others away.

The holidays suck but everything else is just perfect and not an overload. It plays at a great pace. Best music too and although cleaner on City Folk, I love the sound of DS.
