Some viruses like the one causing common cold, change their surface proteins to evade the immune cells. That's why we cannot make vaccines for every virus. Some like the influenza change it but not so fast, so you should get the vaccine every year for the more prevalent types of that year.

And having a moist environment ready to go (i.e. wet hair) *wouldn't* increase the likelihood of someone's sneeze or cough near you having an easier time adhering to you while in thin vapor form?
