Sunlight is always a must for these fascinating creatures.. I used to live on the top floor of a shared house where the sunlight would beam through the window. My iguana would break out of its cage by using its nails to open the glass slide doors I would come home and find it laying on my bed, looking black as paint from soaking all the sun up. Really interesting creatures to be around

Oooh i remember watching this when i was 3 - 6, what a nostalgia. When i was around that age I thought the basilisk was bigger than adult or my house or something. Turns out it can't even beat adult hand size. One of my favorite things in here are the eagle and iguana eating leaf. I find them adorable and satisfying.

The green iguana is one of the best-known reptiles due to its popularity in zoos and with private reptile keepers. It has a very distinctive appearance, with a large head, a pronounced dewlap, and an impressive crest of comb-like spines that runs down the centre of the back and tail, measuring around three centimetres high.

they are usually bulkier where the green is maybe longer, a rhino ig is much more expensive to buy $100s more green igs are cheap to buy but both are very expensive to keep over $1500 a year, check out my videos on green iguana care

@@barbieqblack2582 I know this might be to late but take him off from his enclosure, put a plate or bowl of food on a place where it would feel most comfortable for the Iguana, and just leave him alone for a few minutes and it'll start eating. Oh P.S. If you have a small wired lamp or flashlight, shine it next to the food so it'll make it more appealing. Also, start with mangos, zucchini, and green beans all mixed together in one plate, apples and bell peppers are great too.

when i grow up i want to start an iguana farm, and breed hundreds of them per year to release into the wild to keep these guys from becoming extinct i have a pet iguana but i dont support the pet trade because they are usually abandoned or they dont recieve the proper care. i love these animals

Also to be honest the basilisk lizard is like a spinosaur because of its sail or spine that it has on its back like a spinosaur so I see the appeal

Iguanas are mostly solitary as males and can be aggressive. Females can deal with others better.

I just recently bought a green iguana... I'm new to caring for him/her... for now all it does is sleep and eat... I am feeding it fruits and lettuce.... my question is... is it normal for an iguana to a little aggressive when I pick it up... and how do I get it to eat from my hands
@zombiejosh789 жыл бұрын
Its normal you just have to give it time, and work w it evrryday, they are very rewarding pets
@liliansantibanez22038 жыл бұрын
what type of fruits do you feed it? and I hope you now know iguanas should not ever eat lettuce
@1323Ruben13238 жыл бұрын
+Lilian Santibanez Really? I haven't had an iguana for ten years, but I used to always feed him lettuce, along with other fruits and vegetables; I feel terrible now. Why is that so?
@liliansantibanez22038 жыл бұрын
+Ruben R. Samaniego collard greens and green mustard are best and well lettuce is nothing to them it's literally junk food it's hardly nutritional

@crimsonmonkey humans hunting and breeding iguanas only to eat them isnt part of natural selection though is it? i dont want to harm the ecosystem there is abundant plant life so more iguanas wouldnt be a problem it would just be like putting back what was once there i would understand where youre coming from if it was per say crocs or leopards but there is more than enough plant life and not nearly enough iguanas because of us. do you still disagree?
