Iguana Cage Setup, Care, Food and Diet - Ep. 1 (My First Green Iguana)

Decided to keep an iguana, my first green iguana
In this video i feed him kale, lettuce, papaya, tomato, rice, and oranges.
oranges are good for iguana's but not too much, because the acid.
Daily Sunbathing 8 hours per day
Equipment Used :
Cage : 58cm x 40cm x 39cm
Light : Philips Spot on 40w (12 hours per day)
Main Wood : 53 cm x 10cm x 5cm
Secondary Wood : 43cm x 5cm x 5cm
Swing Board : 18cm x 7cm x 1,5cm
Rope for Swing Board : 20cm
Temperature : 31°C - 34°C

U need a uvb light ,calcium,mister or spray boddle,and that enclosure has no way to the hold humidity if you do have a mister so put like plastic around the sides besides the front and top so it can have some but not to much air flow and yes iguanas need a water bole to soak in and a sepret one to drink out of. This stuff is expensive so dont take the cheap way out and give it melobitic bone disease or respatory failure

Your missing a few things for little bran here, I don’t know If it is optional but you need reptile bedding, Fruit for iguanas should only be a small part of their diet like about 15%, You also need a hiding place for your iguana, Try not too feed your iguana the same foods, Change their meals every 2 or 1 days, So that they can get their nutrients in and their diet balanced, You also need calcium powder on your iguana’s greens, sprinkle a bit on it, not too much though, Do you bathe him? Do you clean his cage?

Green iguanas can make amazing pets for people with the time and space. There are also blue and red iguanas which are different color variations of green iguana so they are the same species. I would probably say rock or rhino iguanas might be a little bit easier but are more expensive.i think green iguanas are amazing animals. Let me know if you end up purchasing one.

This video is old so I don't expect u to reply, but what is the ideal branch for my iguana? For climbing and sleeping. I heard ppl say that iguanas love to climb but I recently changed the stick in my enclosure to a larger branch but it is also steeper, and my iguana seems to be abit uncomfortable with it. Is this because the branch is new and he's adjusting? Or is it too steep

I can't count how many things you are doing wrong here. Citrus fruit is terrible for them. Rice isn't in their diet either. Open cages are unable to maintain and hold any humidity, which they need. They also need UV lighting. Calcium powder is a must for them for their bones or they will eventually have a terrible death. You've provided zero places to hide and zero resemblance to their natural habitat. This is just awful. People please, do your research before getting a pet. This Iguana, sure it's cute but it's living a miserable life. Seeing this is a 4 year old video.. I'm sure it isn't alive anymore.
