@@RamtinIrandost :- We all like to see someone hold and pet these cute animals...but the death grip on the tail is probably neccessary for control, to prevent them from jumping off and maybe hurting themselves. For every animal there is a separate technique.

The tiger quoll was my favourite native animal when I was a kid. I got to see one at the Halls Gap zoo a few years back and I was delighted!

Yeah, and why aren't elephant shrews more famous? They're super cute too and they look prehistoric, yet nobody cares about them. One actually appeared in the Lion King remake, but everyone was too busy bashing and hating on it to even notice or care.

They have unfortunately proliferated in Australia very well since a lot of our native wildlife is not well adapted to compete or defend against feline predators. :( It's so disappointing to see our unique biodiversity become homogenized by feral cats (and pigs and dogs etc.)!

It's because they're the only species we take with us and then let roam free. Other species can't "dominate" because we don't bring them. If we brought eagles and wolfes, they would dominate the cats. It's also not "amazing", it's an ecological disaster and one of the many way in which we destroy nature.

Quolls aren't apex predators, but saltwater crocodiles, northern New Guinea crocodies, southern New Guinea crocodiles, man, dingoes, New Guinea singing dogs, wedge-tailed eagles, New Guinea harpy eagles, Gurney's eagles, Australian scrub pythons, amethystine pythons, olive pythons, Irian pythons, perenties, and crocodile monitors are. Quolls are the Oceanian equivalent of cats.

My brother in law is from Sydney Australia and was telling me about the vicious drop bears when I first met him several years ago. You should do a episode on the blood thirsty drop bear, the scourge of Australia tourists. Haha. Great episode, those guys are so awesome. Thanks for another great one.

Sometimes it's because they feed on crops and livestock.

Either A- that coolness makes them dangerous to humans B-that cuteness is offset by them being bad for crops or in an area we want to occupy instead C- we think another animal is cuter (like cats) and that new species wholesale slaughters them D- we thought their coolness gave them special properties and hunted them down. And of course, we can't forget the simple fact that some of these are only cool because they're rare. there are tons of cool things about most species, but raccoons don't seem as impressive because you're so familiar with them. they're mundane.

So.....the way the quoll jumped and stood on Danielle’s shoulders is how our little chihuahua/maltese stands on my fiancé’s shoulders when he wants to see everything or to feel safe 😂. ETA: and the way she’s holding the Eastern quoll is how I hold him too 😂😂😂. He’s a grumpy little guy (only 3) and now I shall call him a quoll 😆🤣 At 3:02, if “It ain’t none of my business” was a ‘person’ 🤣😂 Lil Fella was like......nope, not my business 🙈

Good coverage of these charismatic Australians. The Perth zoo has had great success with captive breeding and reintroduction of the Western quoll (chuditch) and this has now been taken up by the Western Plains zoo in NSW

The auto captions can’t decide if Quoll is actually cool, cole, coal, wall, Falls or clothes.

Cute little creatures. Australia has their own marsupials endemic species, they owe a great responsibility towards world in order to keep them safe from extinction. ❤️ Great fan of yours :D you are my idol.

My grandad worked on a station as a kid.. they had a spotted Quoll as a pet.. Not very friendly evidently, but anything keeping possums away was welcome.

They move like opossums, almost like a cat and almost like a raccoon combined. I wonder if it's a trait of certain marsupials.
