The difference is when everyone found out John Brain was a mouse, his support went down to zero. Despite Trump's true nature, Trump managed to hold on to enough support to become president. Besides, no one in the right frame of mind wants a mouse as President, even if it's Brain, Mighty Mouse or even Mickey Mouse for that matter.
