They would have died regardless, the entire point of the stand is that no matter what happens it only shows the truth, even if it didn’t show buccelati dying he would have still died because he was simply fated to

Yes, but Bucellatti will still dead. Mista destroying the stone alter, BUT NOT, changes the fate it's self. It was the reason Bucellati become a "zombie" after get gutted by the boss, and Bruno surviving is the reason Narancia and Abbachio dead : because he try to find out boss's identity after he try to kill his own daughter It's also alter the fate in the way : because the result of the Rolling Stone arc, it was Bucellati who investigate Leaky Eye Luca incident, not Fugo. Asuming things going without Mista destroying the stone, Fugo probably kill or fail to pusuade Giorno ; without Giorno, Polpo will not be dead and he most likely will still dispatch Bucellati to escort Trish to Venice ; without Giorno, Bucellati have no chance to survive his encounter with Diavolo ; with Bucellatti dead, the rest of the team will not dare to betray the boss ; thus Narancia and Abbachio will not meet their death (at least not soon enough) That's why the Bucellati pose in the stone is similiar when he was punched by King Crimson. He was supossed to meet his demise. But Mista destroying the stone, change the whole premises Ps : am not an english speaker, hope this explain my thought
