Hey so I’m no professional but I think doing both would be good because your basically knocking out two birds with one stone. I’ve know some ppl who aren’t the best at art bus still do animation and they’ve gotten better over the years with some practice of animation and drawing on the side. I’m not even that good at drawing and I still do animation. Just don’t burn yourself out at all.👍🏼

i'd say to just go for it and make sure to check your expectations, without that draftsmanship and drawing skill you won't make any richard williams or aaron blaise stuff but you can still make excellent learning material. with poor drawing skill clarity is the most important part. an easy way is to use universal symbols kinda like hieroglyphics instead of trying to copy that object directly, and you could even take photos and trace/put a lineart filter over them which would not develop your drawing skill, but would allow you to make something!
