It's alive! Animate portraits using Photoshop and After Effects. Bring old paintings to life. Quickly add movement and depth to still images. I go through the most common challenges, and techniques you'll work with when animating any portrait.

Alright everyone. I found the painting used in the picture - it's " *Joseph Ducreux - Discreet Secret* ". I don't know why the hell it is such a big deal to say the name instead of " _it's wildly available on wikipedia_ ", that the author answers to everyone, but anyways, here you go!

@@ECAbrams 16:38, how did you call up their position as you said here? is there some shortcut for that?
@ECAbrams
@ECAbrams Жыл бұрын
@@user-bu5tx3yt9f for calling up any property in After Effects there are keyboard shortcuts. They may be different depending on your keyboard language. For me it's the P key for the position. But you can access properties by twirling down in the timeline, and if you're working with the latest version of Ae, there is the new properties pannel. Many ways to call up position.

@@ECAbrams I have another question: when it comes to "particules" such as in a pinata thing or a mini volcano throwing multiple small items, what would you say is the best method to animate all the little items moving/ being thrown away by the mini volcano or sweet falling from a pinata? Its tricky because you need to animate every item/ every particule, and they must all have their own direction and angle.. so I wonder what do you have to say about that?

awesome video! btw for photoshop id recommend using masking layers instead of erasers and you can group multiple layers with cmd+g instead of merging them down. i always find an issue when i come back to my work and having a non destructive edits means you can keep adjusting in the future :)

Fascinating stuff, I’m not versed in photoshop , just use Premiere Pro but I wanted to learn about animating very similar to what you just did. I have a painting in mind, just to figure out what the heck you are doing and if it’s something I could even learn! Thanks
