Hello! I am a beginner and purchased your project to see your workflow in more detail! I wondered how I could render the butterfly floating forward like you had in the beginning of the video? Thank you so much!
@anyamaryina15 күн бұрын
Hey, I've just dropped you an email:) In short, you can add a procedural source of changing values (e.g. LFO CHOP), connected to the parameter you want to animate, or you may use the Animation COMP for more precise control.

The FBX file you link to does not have the correct set up for touchdesiger - and can't be easily baked from Blender.
@anyamaryina1430Ай бұрын
Hi, I imported it into Blender (Import -> .glTF 2.0), then chose Export -> FBX, also checked Limit to Visible Objects option before exporting (it's not necessary, just doesn't render the unnecessary objects). That's it. I use Blender 4.0.

This is a really good tutorial.I want to render a butterfly by rotating its angle. Is there any way to do this?
@anyamaryina2 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you! You can find how to rotate the model at 09:53 (if you need another angle - tweak another rotation parameters). To make custom animation you may want to use Animation COMP, I recommend to read a documentation or watch some tutorial on how to use it first. It's easy to work with, but may be not clear for the first time. To render the butterfly use Movie File Out TOP, you should connect it to the the output ('null1' operator in the tutorial). Good luck:)

Sure :) But the butterfly model isn't mine and it requires attribution, you can find more info via the link in the description.

Sorry, in my case doesn't work. When I apply the deform, it says "no capture attribute exist".
@anyamaryina5 ай бұрын
Hi, to be workable, your file should have capture attributes. You can verify it has them by middle-clicking the ImportSelect SOP (with already assigned Geo Path) and looking for Point Attribute pCapt, Detail Attributes pCaptStr and pCaptData in the bottom of the window. As far as I know, TouchDesigner supports only animations on the root transforms of geometry, blend shapes and skeleton animation, so if you're importing the model done with, let's say, C4D modifiers, I have no idea how to make it work without going back to C4D and remaking the animations. But I'd clarify this on TD forum, maybe I miss something: transferring geometry between softwares is a tricky thing. Also this can happen when you're using .fbx that contains multiple meshes. In this case you want to create multiple Import Select SOPs assigned to each mesh, then connect each Import Select SOP to its own Deform SOP and then combine Deform SOP's outputs to a Merge SOP. Then add a Sprinkle SOP and follow the tutorial!

Hi, I came across your tutorial on animation in Particles. I’m having an issue: I’m following your steps, but in this module, the particles just line up, and the "Interpolate Sourced Point" option can’t be disabled. Could you please tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thank you so much in advance! (I just started working with this, so I apologize if the question seems silly.)
@anyamaryina14302 ай бұрын
Hi, if the parameter you can't edit is yellow, it means that it is in the read-only mode. You can uncheck it by clicking mouse right button on the parameter name -> Toggle Read Only mode. As for the particles lining up, make sure your model was imported properly and looks the same way as mine on previous steps, also you may need to increase the size of the model (Fbx COMP -> Xform tab -> Uniform Scale parameter).
@sll.graphics19 күн бұрын
did you find an answer? I have the same lining up problem
@praesupap82084 ай бұрын
I have used sop to chop and connected to particlesGpu and the particle part is not as the butterfly moves😢, it becomes a single line instead. I noticed that the chot to image is just a black line, not like in the clip, so I think the cause may start there. Do you have a way to fix it please?
@anyamaryina4 ай бұрын
It may happen when your model is too small, try to significantly increase its size in the Fbx COMP (Xform tab, Uniform Scale parameter)

Hello, I am a beginner, why can't I find SOP with static mesh in my FBX animation, what should I do, I really want to know
@anyamaryina17 күн бұрын
Hi, you can also do it this way: 1. Drag your file to the network 2. Then add an Import Select SOP 3. Drag the FBX component (an operator with your .fbx file) to the Import Select SOP, it will create a thin link between operators 4. Select the Import Select SOP and click a triangle arrow to the right of the Geo Path parameter, there will be some option(s), choose the mesh you need from there. If there are no options, then the reason can be in the export parameters of the .fbx file, I can recommend importing it to Blender and export with default .fbx parameters. Good luck :)

@@anyamaryina I am really excited and thank you very much for your reply! I clicked the arrow on the right and it popped out successfully, but I used a lot of cloning in my animation, which resulted in a lot of small models popping out. What should I do about this? Hope to get your reply

@@ppli-l7l There's no option to choose multiple parts, but you can choose one, add a Deform SOP to extract the animation (see tutorial), repeat this for every instance and then merge all the Deform's outputs with a Merge SOP. Then follow the tutorial!)
