Even though Grunkle Stan is a criminal, he still loves and cares for his family, and I like that about him. It shows that just because you commit crimes and do bad things doesn't mean you're an evil person. I think that's a very sweet message that isn't really told very often. Usually when a person is bad and commits horrible crimes, they're just even monsters and wanted to be bad people but Stan is different. Stan only wanted to be loved by his family. He only became this way as an effort to prove he isn't a failure just cause he isn't smart, but he also saved his brother and the entire town + his family, so I'd say he's a pretty good guy, intention wise at least

Stanley Pines, perhaps, one of the only characters in animation who could be rightfully justified for, if not all, then for the majority of his crimes. He was trying to survive without any education, money or food when he was kicked out of the house. Then, when he met Stanford and lost him in the portal, he was trying to get him back and keep the Mystery Shack house alive for 30 years (s2e12, "A Tale of Two Stans"). And, after all, he decided to sacrifice himself in order do destroy the demon from outer dimension (s2e20 finale).
