Great fake 3D effect. Nice use of the null to add the width during rotation. Thanks.

You’re very welcome! At first something was looking odd, and after looking for some reference photos online, I realized that it had to increase in width to really sell the effect.

Big tip, when you're linking all the colour properties to your master colour control layer, click the "lock" icon next to your effects control panel in the top right and this will lock that layer's effects to view until you unlock it, so you don't have to go back and forth clicking the main layer over and over again.

Thank you! Let’s just say that I have put in my 10.000 hours (at least), spending a lot of my time animating for the past 9 years. My ideas are often based on everyday objects, so things around me 🙌

I never thought about animating the scale axis like that for faux 3D. I’ve just been animating path points and sometimes there are a ton of path points to animate. This scale axis technique wouldn’t work too well with shapes with strokes right.

How did you group the shapes on layers without using pre-composition?
@OliverRandorff2 жыл бұрын
Simply select a shape layer when creating new shapes, and they will become part of that same shape layer. Although I create my illustrations in Illustrator and export them to After Effects using an extension called "Overlord".
