Hello friends. This is a tutorial for those who have super hero characters that want their capes to flap in the wind in Blender.
The character was downloaded from DAZ Studio and 3ds Max.

This is way more helpful than other tutorials that make this so much more complicated. I am having a trouble with my cape going inside my character, being pulled into itself and freaking out, even though I have collision on the character.

Hello. If your cape is imported from other 3d software, it might give you trouble because different 3d software have different mesh triangulations. Try creating the cape from a plane in Blender, then apply the process. If you get a good result but not quite there, export it as an fbx then re-import it. Relink it to the character and apply a Lattice modifier to deform the mesh to produce rhe final result.

Hey I followed this step by step, and the cloth for my model is still dropping off. Any chance I could send you the file and you take a look, and let me know where I messed up? I'm repeated it multiple times and the exact same results.

Hello. Try using a simple plane with lots of subdivisions as the cape and see if that works. Sometimes when importing models from other programs they don't always work correctly in Blender.

@@AnimazaStudios I will try. I have a model that HAS a cap all ready, but whenever I try to re-pin it, it still fallas through the floor. Should I just give it an armature and try that way? It is a XPS/SFM based model.

An armature might work. But we might need to cheat a bit. I still think you should create plane using blender and texture it with the characters cape texture. Then pin that to a blender object with render turned off, then connect that object to the character’s shoulder bone. That way the cape is pinned to another blender object and not directly to the XPS object. Blender works best with its own objects. Or you can delete the entire character except for the cape, then pin the cape to a blender object that is roughly shaped like the deleted character’s body. If it works, export the cape as an fbx then reimport in a new scene with the original character. Delete the original cape and group the new cape with the character. Good luck.

Hey my wind doesn't want to work for some reason, tried strength all the way up to 100k but it has no effect, the cloth just hangs😅

Its a bug in the software. I would copy everything, open a new blender instance and paste it in there to see if it works. If not, try a simpler version with just a plain and a rectangle and apply the effect to see if it works.
