@@tabkg5802you are right in terms of design and art style, Hero (s4) is more in line with the LN then S1-3. I have always been mixed on it, i like it, it is closer the source. The older art style fits more the tybe of show DxD is…… now i like Hero the most of any of the season and you can clearly see that the author has a lot more control over the shit that was Born. And the more loose art style also made it so the action wnet up. I have no issues with the new art style being the one going forward. It is even that art style hat get’s used en upcoming gatcha game.

@@tabkg5802 Yes S4 looks more like the LN but that doesn’t make it good. The LN and S4 got fucking off brand hentai art style. It’s just off. Not to mention the S1-3 art style fits so much better with the actual story of DXD. You cannot tell me that the fight scenes from S1-3 are not 1000x better than anything in S4.

The art style stayed relative, but the animation changed drastically. Jc staff focused more on picture to picture frame for manga without filling the blanks in between, while Madhouse focused on the movement.

technically s1 and 2 where the same team DaL 2013 was AIC's last production before it closed and most of the team that did it moved to form IMS which did DaL s2 in 2014 which was its first production technically 2 studios but same employees

@@ttb2313 it’s far from a hot take fren, don’t worry. Me personally, I’m okay with the art style change. It took some getting used to but has its charm and is arguably an improvement in several ways. But the CG tho… yea it sucked. The only thing that looked good was the airship fights in both s4 and 5. Geek Toys cannot properly animate human models to save their lives.

you should check out the different studios that animated the different seasons of Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka, they had 3-4 different animation studios animating each season of Gochiusa. and every new season of Gochiusa gets even more stunning visuals and scenery, the characters also even more stunning and pretty and cuter than ever before.

i don't think the fate comparison makes much sense, because they're following different designs. deen (2006/10) = takeuchi's old style ufotable (2011/12/14/15/17/19/20) = takeuchi's modern style a good example of that is kara no kyoukai, also by ufotable, in the first 7 movies (2007-2009) they followed his old designs, after that they start following his new designs.
