Most girls are girls at anime cons. Haven't seen too many traps. I have seen seen a few here and there but it is very difficult to tell until they talk. However, I sometimes do trap cosplays. Most people don't even bat an eye and immediately refer to me as female. I've even been out in restaurants nearby the cons I go to and people thought I was a woman. Passable crossplay is a an art. Makeup can take me up to 2 hours to do correctly.

It depends on the area, for example I am from Juarez, Mexico and the little events that are here the otaku community is somewhat toxic, they want everything for free, they criticize everything, among other things, but I have also noticed that other events in other cities, for example the neighboring city of El Paso, Tx the otaku / geek community is much friendlier and more fun like the video. :/

This was my first year going... From what I gathered the people there are super awkward, when you talk to them it’s like they’re scared to socialize. This one dude kept following my friend to the point where I had to ditch barhopping with my main friends, go all the way to the convention and tell the dude to fuck off. People do not know how to walk, in the merch area, they literally stop and stand still in the middle of the walkways. There were many people who desperately wanted to go into hentai viewings to the point where when I got out of line to buy water and come back to my friend who was in line, dude behind me started freaking out and making a scene saying I was cutting all cause he wanted to see some tiddies asap (yeah I went for the lols and so many people there belong in jail) it’s honestly a different world but it was pretty interesting. The atmosphere is really inviting though. I recommend going high, I had a blast with that lol
