I don't want to change any race indicated by Oda himself because he is already make it multi-racial and very lovely cast in his mind. Other than that I hope they go for lesser known names for the cast. Robin, Vivi, Chopper and Tashigi is my biggest concerns but I trust Oda and showrunners for this one because first season is amazing. Perfect casting.

If I remember correctly, Oda already said the nationalites for the Supernovas, Law was German, Kidd is Scottish, Drake is Turkish, Bonney- New Zealand, Hawkins -Egyptian, Killer- Scottish, Capone - Italian, Apoo - Chinese, Uruogne - Indian, Blackbeard - Somalian.

They'll probably make something like how they did Grogu from Mandalorian as Chopper. Then they can full CGI his points or make someone like Chewbacca type thing for his heavy point. He only really appear in his other points aside from heavy point during the final battle, so it's definitely doable budget-wise. Since it would be animatronics, it won't have much expression as the anime but I can let it slide. Unless Netflix is giving them twice the budget and they can go full CGI like Detective Pikachu which I won't have any problems with.

Technically they'd only have to cgi the moment he changes Points, and his Walking Point. All the others: Heave Point, Jump Point and Arm Point can simply be done by hiring 3 different actors with different body types, make-up and some cgi touch ups. That would be even cheaper

Tony is really the biggest question for them to figure out. CGI: Not only do they not have a movie budget, but he's a regular cast member that will need ample screentime for all remaining seasons which could be 10+ seasons, so no way they can afford quality anything along the levels of Detective Pikachu who only needed less than an hour of screentime on a Nintendo movie budget Human child: Will quickly age out of child appearance if show goes on long enough Puppet with some enhancement is probably one of the only realistic options.

- For Brook I can see Doug Jones playing him with the fact he was Billy (Hocus Pocus), Abe & others (Hellboy), Faun & Pale Man (Pan’s Labyrinth), Silver Sufer (Fantastic Four movie), Amphibian man (The Shape of Water), Saru (Star Trek Discovery), & many more especially monsters - Funny that you put Gus from “Sweet Tooth” in the thumbnail because Christian Conrvery who plays him also plays as young Sanji in the live action, but him being Chopper’s voice actor would be interesting since in Japanese young Sanji is voiced by Ikue Otani (Chopper’s va) - Jamie Lee Curtis is just too perfect as Kureha & everyone thinks so - Xolo Mariduena as Ace is a good idea with him looking like he could be Inaki’s older brother

Yeah brook doesn’t have to be literal bones, he could be like a zombie from thriller or the Davy jones pirates from potc and have Doug jones act him, which is also great cause he’s already very tall

Yeeeeees! Doug Jones!!! I'm happy to see someone on the internet agrees with me ❤ Not only does he fit the body type being tall and slender, but he has a looot of experience with prosthetics. He's very dedicated to his roles, wearing all those body suits and also having character mannerisms. For instance Saru in Discovery had a particular way of waving his hands when walking that set him apart. I think he would be very respectful towards the material and do Brook justice. CGI can be expensive, so doing it with prosthetics might mean we get to see more of Brook instead of just glimpses if they're out of budget 😂

Chopper's kinda tricky cuz he's got multiple forms, The easiest is his Human form to have a big muscular guy with some prosthetics for a blue reindeer nose probably?

I think the Den Den Mushi's told us how they will animate Chopper. It will be an actual prop, an animatronic prop with limited movement. That later will get CGI over to make it look alive. Of course this is on a much bigger scale. But not having to create the entire character from a PC, will allow Chopper to have some sort of realness in the live actions. Specially considering when he's in Brain Point, the crew generally picks him up. as for his big form, any big dude on a suit and the CGI on it. As for the voice actor. Personally i do not like the voice of the English anime. Maybe if she deepens the tone for the live action i could accept it. I mean Mayumi Tanaka did it for Luffy in the Japanese Dub. So if Chopper's voice actress is skilled, she should be able to make the voice less annoying. Even Toei knew the only way Chopper would be popular was by hiring Pikachu's voice actress.

My only concern about using a puppet for Chopper is they tend to have limited movement. For example look at the Dark Crystal series, fine motor skills are basically nonexistent. If they can figure something out though, then I'm all for it as actual props almost always look better than pure CGI.
