The action scenes always takes the longest to do, there's more frames to be drawn for the flow of the moment. (That could be less for 3D, but extra rendering time applies.)

To those who don't think they can animate for a job: I used to tell myself that all the time and that my art was horrible. Then I started spending time on it and showing people in disgust. And they loved it. Sure it's not the greatest. But you get better at art with a lot of practice; the key is dedication. Sure the first time your draw someone fighting it will take ages. But once you've drawn someone holding a sword and striking for the hundredth time it's like clockwork. I used to finish an anime style face in 2 hours in high school. Now in college I can crank out a moving anime person with detail in like 30 minutes. Don't sell yourself short. Most top anime artists spent years daily honing their skills. You can do anything if you REALLY want to. Once you get better at drawing then learn to animate you start to realize how simple it is and that it's more of a ton of labor than it is super difficult after a bit. The hardest part is animating frames after the hundredth hour

Seremedy [Official] thanks for the comment, I used to draw daily but ran into a wall a couple years back and never recovered. First it was "let's just take a break for a week and recharge" but doubts grew and I was afraid to even put a pen to paper, I was afraid I'd be even worse than when I was in that "art block." But I'm 20 now and I've got to do something with my life and the only thing I've ever enjoyed and been semi-good at (i definitely wouldnt consider myself an artist lol) was drawing. Not that I've tried to be good at many things.. I have terrible anxiety and am basically afraid of everything, especially failure... but the last couple weeks I've been trying to get back into it.. still very scared but I think once I start I'll realize it isn't so bad and I'll enjoy it.. just getting over that first wall is a huge challenge.. but I'm going to do it right now. Sorry for the long comment lol.. gahhh here I goooo

@credfire86606 жыл бұрын
alize0623 no, most anime is hand-drawn, CGI is (usually) used for stuff that doesn't need to look good and/or takes a lot of time to animate (i.e. a bunch of students entering a school, mechs that are mostly made out of rectangular shapes, etc...). While more CGI shows are being released nowadays then something like 20 years ago, they are still the minority, if you meant computer assisted animation (i.e. compositing, coloring, etc...), then you would be right, however use the right term, since CGI is Computer Generated Imagery (i.e. 3D animation).

Seeing the final work is awesome, completely awesome; one gets to see the thing that the artist envisioned to its end, or at least the end the artist chooses to show it to us. Then again, it's amazing to see the work behind it all. These raw depictions of the artist show their thinking and offer another perspective for it, it feels like going on two journeys: one for the story and then the story behind the story.

key frames are the main frames for the animation. they are used to highlight the most important poses in the animation and they show you if the movements makes sense/flow together or not, whilst the in-betweens just makes the animation less choppy. its important to do keyframes (they are mainly the ones with dramatic posing) so the animation and character drawings remain consistent.
