One thing is definitely better at parties today than at the old ones: the light show is absolutely amazing. I still remember how proud the Peppermill was of having a single laser. But honestly, the rest of it: it looks like a movie theater audience.

I think that the theatrics are amazing but they breed passivity. When your brain is trying to decipher what story the lights are telling there is little breathing room for you to create your own meaning through dance
