After rewatching Kyoukai no Kanata recently, I remembered why I loved it so much. Its use of youmu to represent hatred made the themes of acceptance hit hard. Somehow, in just 12 episodes and a movie, through thorough world-building and slice-of-life scenes to develop the characters, Kyoukai no Kanata achieved a really impactful story whose meaning will be timeless. Kyoto Animation put soul into this work and many others, and it shines incredibly brightly. "Fuyukai... janai desu" -Kuriyama Mirai

でも今のところは音楽に携われてよかったなと思っています (´・ω・`) After rewatching Kyoukai no Kanata last week, I can't help but be amazed at the constantly good animation quality from Kyoto Animation. Especially the ending animation is simply amazing with the night sky rotation exactly timed with the chorus entrance of "Daisy". To be honest, if I wouldn't do music right now, I would have probably become a digital artist and I would be searching for the "perfect aesthetic" in image compositions every week. But I am perfectly fine with creating music instead now (´・ω・`)

You're just incredible. Another awesome arrangement from the grandfather of anime-piano. It's just admirable how you can transcribe a full song in one week. I haven't even watched Kyoukai no Kanata yet, but since I first heard this song, It has always been one of my favourites. I can notice how you put all your heart into your songs and I love it. When the video is over, I always keep sitting there for a few moments, stunned and overwhelmed by emotions. I truly enjoy reading through your descriptions afterwards and once again I can see your arrangements are more than just a piece of paper with notes on it. Since you asked for suggestions, I would love to hear the first Fire Force opening "Inferno" from you. Of course any song is great, when you are playing it! Truly one of the more underrated EDs in anime, with a godly chorus at that. I think what shined most about this cover was how the melody really suits the higher register on the piano. The entrance at 2:15 felt almost ethereal, and then again at 3:17, and finally at 4:18 where it gradually climbs up to a soft conclusion. Thanks for covering this classic. I'm looking forward to what you bring us next week!

This. I love this. I always that Kyoukai no Kanata was somewhat unfairly overlooked, since I loved the way it combines a really meaningful story with a timeless message about unity with great animation and fun characters, but my favorite part was always the ending. It has a melancholic, instantly nostalgic sound that carries within it an uplifting feeling completely in line with the show's own tone and themes. This arrangement perfectly captures that feeling, and I can't be more impressed or thankful for its making. Really, thank you for making this, it's going on every playlist I ever make.
@s.bpiano4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Animenz! Your Arrangements are always amazing! Thank you for making an official arrangement of this one! The contrast between your live in 2014 vs now is amazing. There was a lot more creativity than before! You have really improved since then. The way you were able to play the melody while playing those repetitive notes is what separates you from other arrangers. The way you are able to make the arrangement feel “full” and perfect is truly amazing. The two hand techniques were there when necessary to give more to the arrangement. I especially love the sort of call and response you do in some of your arrangements. It really gives me the chills when I hear it! Another honorable mention would be the octave gliss in the left hand. I never thought I’d see it again, but here it is. 😂 I really liked how it all concluded how it started! All and all, this arrangement was truly amazing, and I loved every second of it! Im really glad you made the full version from that live 2014. This song and the full version of the Clannad after story opening, really stood out to me in that collection of pieces you played in that 2014 live! Anyway, Thank You for your hard work, and thank you for giving me something to look forward to during the quarantine! o(^-^)o

I am a big fan of symmetry (since it’s aesthetically pleasing) so I usually let my pieces end like “book ends”. I did a textbook example of this “book end” in my “imagination” cover recently as well. I was pretty lonely and isolated in school when Kyoukai no Kanata aired. I remember how much it ressonated with me. Eventually I changed schools and made new friends. Thank you so much for making this arrangement. I haven't played the piano in a while thanks to my college but I might dedicate myself to this one.

I love this cover so much!! It’s so crazy to see all your covers as all this time has been going on over the past 5-6 years or so I’ve been watching your videos. Thank you so much for all you’ve done, and your incredible covers. They’ve given me the motivation to keep learning piano, even when I find it hard to. Thank for everything again, and here’s to the years going forward.
