Just a heads up, I MIGHT, MIGHT be taking this series Patreon exclusive. Nothing is written in stone, it's just that it's a pain editing around Toei and it doesn't make much on here anyway. If I do it'll be for the $3 tier and above, still 4 videos per month just on that platform instead. I do understand that as KZbin is a pain to work with. However, as someone who waits eagerly each week for your videos on this show now, I'd be very heartbroken to see it go. I think having early access/voting as a Patreon reward makes sense, but I think taking content from the channel is a bit of a shame. Obviously if you have to do it that's fine, I just don't know if it will end up bringing in more revenue as keeping it on the channel is effectively advertisement for your Patreon for those who want to keep the show rolling.

I’m sorry to be negative when everyone is being positive, given that I’ve followed this channel for years and love your content…but locking an entire series behind a paywall feels very unfair. Why even have a YT channel at that point if half the content isn’t even going to be available on it?

It’s filler, but I like how Robin calls them kids in that one part, like yeah, this 28yo grown-ass woman really is riding around with a bunch of teenagers on the tiniest, most broken pirate ship. Especially given the next major arc it must be a very weird experience for her

17:45 Spoken like the man Oda himself. Fun fact: the first time he met his wife, she was cosplaying as Nami. Some memes/fan theories speculate later female characters share a slight resemblance to Nami as a way for Oda to get his wife to cosplay other One Piece characters. 😂

One Piece filler does what any good filler should, fill our stomachs with more juicy story time while the main manga can do all the serious bits. This arc proves that the anime writers can add their own things and it feels like anything Oda would do, which makes viewers happy because it's more of what we love

This filler does that, sadly most filler on the anime is just streching of scenes to Infinity, random crawd reactions and repetition of flashbacks

35:25 I love that Luffy is not only defending from the bullets, but also knocks Zoro and Sanji out of their stack stances. Such comedy is *chef's kiss*

I always love it when we get to see the Strawhats do their ‘jobs’. The Strawhats are so indestructible that it’s easy to forget what an excellent doctor Chopper really is when push comes to shove, or even the finer points of Sanji’s cooking ethic given that we generally just see the finished product.

Jonathon is just such a fun little obstacle for Luffy, because for the most part he's fair and chill and honestly if it weren't for rank he'd get along well with Luffy, but rank is there, and he's wily and Luffy immediately clocks onto that when he learns that Zoro was captured. The arc had some great shine moments for Chopper, Usopp and Sanji, with Nami and Robin's intelligence and adaptability on show throughout, and it never feels out of character.

I too love Usopp's VA an unreasonable amount. Just for funsies, I decided to rewatch the Live Action in Japanese, and while my reaction to everyone else was "ah, it's good to hear the crew again!" Usopp's actor and Japanese voice actor combined together to make me go "that's literally just Usopp. Like, _damn,_ but it's literally Usopp!"

I love the G-8 arc so much I regard it as Canon. You can see the love of Oda's storytelling multiple times in each episode!!!

About win 6367: Luffy may not really get that this is a trap, but he's not wrong in his assessment: Commander Jonathan really is a nice person. Luffy's instinct and perception are always right.

That question marks sweeping over a crowd of confused heads may not have been seen in anime, but it's an old standard for crowd reaction in minimally animated old RPGs. JRPGs, especially.

G8 is so good even by filler standards. It's very rare that Filler like this in any anime is so good it's practically canon.

About win 6440: Sanji always *says* he doesn't have time or care for men. But his actions contradict this when it's people he feels a kinship to (Gin was starving like he was, these are cooks like he is), and especially when it comes to the crew (He may not serve them individually like he does the girls, but he still makes snacks and drinks especially to their tastes)

This Arc forgets that there is a Dial that does what Impact does with blunt force instead with blades. The Axe Dial should have been used to defend against the sword instead.

As sad as it is, you can be the first person to know that I will NOT be doing anymore compilations. It's very annoying, there's no claims on my videos, but if I bundle them together, Toei hits the big one with like 10-15 claims. TLDR: It takes a DAY to render and then upload one, to then have to go back and fix 10-15 moments and hope they don't do another 10-15 is horrible. So I decided not to do it. Thanks for the support!

Yeah, i dont subscribe to the idea this particular filler is "non-canon". Oda himself soft-canonizes the events later by including commander johnathan in the background of a navy meeting scene. And as surprising as it is to say, this filler actually expands on important plot points unlike the usual fare that gets the label. "Who repaired the ship in skypiea?" It isnt a full answer, but it is enough to know it is a known event in-universe just by getting some elaboration from the old guy, and only adds to the payoff that the mystery reveal and implications brings.
