If i may be honest, i dont like gay ships to begin with. But Mido-x-Baku is something that makes Harley Quinn and Joker look healthy. Everytime i see it i just leave the video. uraraka is truly deku's hero, she save him from falling in their first encounter, she save him from a deadly fall in the exam, her intervention when she asked present mic if she could share some of her points was one of the factors deku managed to pass, she transformed his demeaning name into his inspiring hero name, she pair up with him in the sports festival even though he was the most valuable target, she save him from the sticky situation with shimura, and without going into spoilers there will be yet another event in the new season, so yeah, she is deku's hero.

Ochako saved Deku at first falling bcs she noticed how he was shaking with anxiety and was physically very weak yet here he was at door of Entrance Exam. Dreaming of being hero. Not giving up despite his lack of confidence. This eased her. That someone like her is in tge exam. That's why she instinctively saved him from tripping. She couldn't abandon someone like him who is trying his best. (Read MHA School Brief Ch- Heartwarming trio to understand how she feels about Deku.) But I love how their first meeting reflected their whole relationship. She will always there to catch him from falling. 😭

The episode I shipped them and every other episode that strengthened my support for it: - The episode when she changed the meaning of "Deku" into something positive and he immediately accepted it - The episode when Midoriya braved up against Bakugou because of the positive name she made him - The episodeS when she kept getting motivated to be her best because of Midoriya (that's healthy AF) - especially going up against _the_ Bakugou in the festival - and in turn the episodes where she's always supporting him to do his best - Her love for him isn't because he's strong or coolーbut rather because he always does his best • and it's bringing out the best in her • and then in turn the best in him - The episode he made DEKU, a name he said he HATED (he never really expressed negative dislike to anything until then), as his HERO NAME - the episode where she decided to put her feelings aside not only for herself but foR HIM as well ▪ Y'all, idk bout y'all but I see every ingredients for a healthy supportive relationship

But she actually did the mature thing: Irl, many students do date in highschool, but there are also those students that ppl label "reserved" because they dont date at all or dont start relationships. But those students are just putting their priority in their future, and for some, they are most especially putting in consideration for the person they love. (Even I know someone who's willing to wait for another to graduate pre-u first, and it's been like 4 years by now. A+ lmao.) It's actually also a much more realistic move Uraraka's making. Unlike the abundance of romance plots in animes making us think the couple has to get together and chase each other during the plot, irl plenty of students choose to do it like Uraraka. I know plenty of ppl who chose to focus on their futures first because they knew their teenage lives can be very unstable with hormones and immaturity etc. Focusing so much on relationships at such a young age can be too tough and some are just not skilled enough yet to balance their love lives and their future. It's better for both parties to wait. ♡ Uraraka didnt "give up" on him. In the manga she still indulges quietly in her crush for Deku with the keychain he gave her for Christmas. She is literally making the "I'll wait for you / for the right time" move that boys do in romance shoujo animes - for Deku 🙈 I'll hella praise that unconventional depiction of a hetero couple from a mangaka who has lgbtq characters in his story

It's the truth though. I try not to get too much into ships, especially ridiculous ones, but I like this one. He was bullied his entire childhood and 'Deku' was like the symbol of all that pain. When Ochako turned that name on its head and used it as a way to empower him you could actually see Izuku's entire face light up, his confidence grow and his whole perspective of himself shift. That is why I ship this. That's what a healthy partnership looks like and they keep exhibiting traits of a healthy relationship throughout the manga.
