Uncle from Another World is a reverse isekai that feels like a sitcom. The dark comedic undertones of the Uncle's adventures make it all the funnier.: The tally marks on the note book of how many times he has cleanse atrocious memories from his mind, his constant abuse due to his appearance, the Sega obsessed subplot & lack of pop cultural knowledge of the past 17 years is what makes this a hidden gem. It's definitely worth watching. It has many more episodes to go, but I'd hope to add it to the S Tier Isekai like Konosuba or Devil is a Part Timer.

9:30 surprisingly enough that actually works, but it's more effective for short sighted people, it works by making the photons only go in one area of the eye which makes the blurinnes that comes for eye's inability to focus the more spread out light correctly go away to a degree. i had to use that during class multiple times

Pro-tip, you can also push on the side of your eye to re-shape it into the proper shape to focus on light. Or at least, that works for the one of my two eyes that's short-sighted, no idea how well this works for other people. Just don't try it with both eyes open, and also I'm pretty sure you shouldn't do it very much or you'll hurt yourself.

Monty really was a genius. He managed somehow to convey parts of who his characters were through their unique fighting styles. Ruby is a weapon fan who relies on her scythe heavily. Yang is boxing with the air to shoot her projectiles. Pyrrha Nikos is versatile and barely uses her semblance to not give possible enemies any intelligence on her capabilities. And so on... It was just another form of story telling for him. And RT still haven't managed to recreate that feeling in RWBY. Nor did the animators for the IQ.

Its called the pinhole effect, if you put a hole small enough close to your eye it focuses the light to the back of the retinas allowing nearsighted people to see. To do it correctly you have to use only your pointer finger and clench it until there is a very small hole letting light through.

I admit, Gigguk slightly triggered me in this regard (not really, nobody take this post too seriously). I found out about the Komi manga (as I had never heard of it prior) because he joked about it never getting an anime in a few videos. So I read it, then an anime is announced, and then when it came out Gigguk portrayed the Komi manga readers as that obnoxious guy going, “haha, I knew that”. And I’m like, “bruh, I’m only the manga reader because you told me it wasn’t getting an anime!” But I know it’s all in good jest, and now Gigguk has become a smug punk like me and you and Joey and all the manga readers and we can all laugh in our superiority together. :)

Not going to lie I expected a longer mention of Made in Abyss since it is, for me, the best anime of the season and 5 episodes in I obviously can't be 100% sure yet but most likely also of the year, I know it is on the continuations category and you focus more on the new stuff but each episode has just adapted the manga so well that I can't help but just be overjoyed every week of the amount of quality and details there is not just in the OST but everything, and we haven't even fully started on the parts that made me love this arc.

What makes Lycoris Recoil stand out to me is the fact that they used what appears to be a fairly substantial part of their budget to animate the different processes of a firearm in motion. Most shows just animate the muzzle flash, maybe the slide movement, but Lyco Reco actually simulates all 4 parts of a handgun's movement. Trigger pull, slide movement, recoil, reset. It makes it feels so fluid and authentic. Every movement looks and feels like something that would happen when you pull a trigger to make something go "bang". I spend a lot of time with my firearms, and it feels really nice to see a studio that pays attention to it's research.

9:23 This is actually real. You need to make a really small hole, if you look closely, there’s some light bending when you make the hole smaller. If you make it small enough where you only see the light bending part, your eyesight should get a little bit better. I went to get a new prescription and the doctor gave me glasses with no glasses, it was just a black plastic glasses frame and where the glass should be, were many black lines crossing each other making millions of tiny holes, and looking through that, I could see a bit better Side note: it’s better to only use your index finger and thumb and leave the rest of your fingers out of your sight imo

It produces a focal point same as a lens would but insead of refraction being used it just prevents light rom passing through anywhere other than the focal point inherently providing focus. this is the mechanism behind the pin hole camera and is why when we squint to see better it works, eyelashes for the vertical division and eyelids for the horizontal division producing a line of focal points.

@@guitboxgeek theres definately a gun nerd on the production team. The suppressed pistol audio sounds EXACTLY what a real one sounds like, not some stock audio hollywood pew pew sound was used. When Takina used the PKM in the first ep before she got kicked out of DA it matches the cyclic rate of an actual PKM, not some random machine gun sound. Lot of the handguns are modelled pretty accurate too.

9:40 It actually works. I've been doing this for nearly ten years now. You have to make it the size of a pinhole, but it works. It's a similar method to pinhole cameras actually. The hole itself helps focus light and allows you to see at a distance. It isn't great, like it's a small viewing area, but it works in a pinch.

The glasses thing does work. The opening needs to be very small to have any effect. Should be so small that what you're looking at starts becoming darker. Doing this reduces the optical error by using a smaller portion of your eye lens. The obvious drawback is that the tighter the hole, the more clarity you gain, but also the more your field of view decreases and the darker what you can still see appears

The hand trick actually works, you just need to make it really really tiny, it focuses your sight on a spot, and can help you see. It's not great but it helps.

9:30 this actually DOES do something, always in school before I had glasses I'd have a small piece of paper with a tiny hole in it that I'd sometimes use if there was something I barely couldn't see on the board. Idk why but looking through a tiny hole makes your eye focus better, so while it doesn't make your eyesight better, it helps you see the thing you needed to see a lot clearer

Basically stuff is blurry when your eyes suck, because the photons coming off of an object don't get properly focused into one spot, but are spread out. The hole only allows through photons from one direction, the photons causing the blur are filtered out. The trade off is that the brightness drops, so you may still have issues seeing.

9:39 THIS DOES SOMETHING. you're doing it wrong, you should make it as small as possible only using two fingers, the index and thumb. The pinhole effect, seeing through things through a pinhole or a normal eye, the "unfocused light" is filtered out while only the "focused" part remains. Though this makes what you see darker because less light is entering your eye.

In high school we actually used this effect to make a simple camera: cardboard shoebox with a hole cut in it, tinfoil with a pinhole poked, and an exposure flap. Tape a piece of photo paper to the back of the box while in a darkroom, then set the box down and open the flap to take a picture.

I'm an absolutely huge fan of the Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer and recently watched the first episode. By the end of it, I was nearly crying at seeing a manga with so much soul and passion turned into something so completely bland and lacking of any sort of emotion. I am so glad to be validated

I am completely on the opposite side of the spectrum...NOTICE, I haven't read the source material at all. But I found it incredibly entertaining right off the bat. I can kinda self-insert as Yuuhi with some of the things he's experienced in his past. I know that it probably isn't following the written Manga/written story 110%, but if people are going to continue crying over that, you'll probably never enjoy another Anime again. All I know is that I'm invested in Samidare's plan....WHOA, that's the first I've ever even mentioned her! Who, aside from being absolutely adorable, is a totally lovable character who, while her ultimate goal at this point at least in MY understanding, is pretty vague. But I can't help but continue watching to see her and Yuuhi's interactions and eventual happenstances and face-offs. I will say this though...and again, having not read the source material I'm not sure how this was handled in the Manga, but seeing Yuuhi over the last few episodes think that He can take certain characters hostage to go about getting at his 'rival', if you wanna call Hangetsu that. I really liked him as an aloof sort of character in the first few episodes, but the last few have me wondering about him. I hope that he can get better at his own powers; his 'Holding Field', and stop having completely underhanded thoughts like that. I didn't much care for Noi, but the angry speech that he gave Yuuhi after hearing what he planned to do with Hisame was more than justified, and I'm glad he laid it out so clearly to him like that. I don't really understand why you say its bland and lacking of emotion. I mean SURELY there's more dialog in the Manga regarding MANY things - NOT JUST emotion. But about everything! Of course...You can't do so much with a 23 minute long episode that includes BOTH an OP and ED that are both about a minute and a half long...So that really only leaves MOST Anime episodes with about 18-20 minutes of ACTUAL content. I've seen plenty of emotion. Especially when Yuuhi dealt with his Grandfather, and the whole wish thing. That was pretty freaking powerful in my opinion. But I'm sure we're simply going to have to agree to disagree. There are people out there = NOT SAYING YOU ARE, @Russell Ives...I'm just making the point that there are MANY, MANY people out there that go about hating on ANY sort of Anime that doesn't follow the Manga, or it's source material in HYPER FOCUSED, HYPER EMULATED animation. And then there's people like me. I'm kind of an odd guy. I'm a pessimist by nature. Educating myself about how this World works has left me nothing but misanthropic, jaded, and depressed. HOWEVER, when it comes to Anime...one of my ONLY ESCAPES...I try to be as positive about it as possible. Very seldom do I leave anything less than a 6 on Anime that I have finished and am leaving a rating for on MyAnimeList. Because if it managed to get me to watch the entirety of the show, then it had to be at least HALFWAY decent! And take an Anime that is currently airing for a Manga that I DO READ, "Shadows House"....There have been many things that have been 'tweaked', absconded, or just plain left out. And yet, I still see the Anime for what it is. It's an absolutely GORGEOUS work of animation that overall, serves the Manga very well. I'll end this here...It got a lot longer than I meant for it to. And again, I'm glad YOU feel "validated" in your feelings regarding "Hoshi No Samidare". Whereas me? I'm just enjoying it for what it is. In the end, we're both more than deserving of our opinions on this. I would rather Anime/Manga fans UNITE than trying to find differences and raise reasons for words of hatred and venom to end up being spewed towards one another. I'm sure you feel me on that. ☮

@@Infinityxxxxxx the issue that I have doesn't really have anything to do with the adaptation itself. It seems to me to be actually quite faithful. Some parts have been omitted but I really have no issue with those selections. The problem that I have is that the manga is painstakingly well drawn (Edit: I don't mean that the manga is unbelievably detailed but great lengths are gone to make the characters expressive and real). Characters are extremely expressive and the visual comedy is excellent. It does a really amazing job of conveying emotion through the drawings and art. The anime to me is bland. It feels joyless. It feels like the animation doesn't reflect the love and passion that the source material had for the story. This story is through and through a character driven story and so much of that was one through the art in the manga and the personalities brought to life by that attention to detail. So far the show hasn't shown that to me. It's just bland. It's not bad. It's not good. It's just so mediocre. It's hard to see a manga that had so much feeling in all of its art be translated so lifelessly. That's my main problem.

Animation, seeing things moving, to me is the one big thing anime has going for it and it's pretty much the only reason I'd ever need an adaptation for a manga I've read. Adaptation changes (which there are almost none in this case apparently) are completely fine. Personally, I dropped the anime after the first episode for now. When the full story is out, I'll binge it all in one weekend with some friends (and fellow fans) so we can at least make fun of something we've been anticipating for more than a decade ;)
